Divorce advice re getting off mortgage

Hey, new here, after a bit of advice as I feel Ive been done over a bit..
Basically I am now divorced from my ex, over a year ago, but financial matters are dragging on. I gave him the house, there was little equity and i could never have afforded the mortgage. I did so on the understanding I would be released from financial responsibility, ie if my names not on the deeds I shouldn't be liable for the mortgage which I thought was all pretty fair of me. Anyway, a court order has been issued to say he has to release me from that and another joint loan of about £7k.....but heres the bit I cant get my head around... there's no time limit. Hes in no hurry to push this along, my solicitor is pretty useless, I'm guessing that its some cock up of hers that's left me in this limbo. I have nearly £220k worth of debt on my credit file for a house I left 3 years ago, I'm not on the deeds for, and it feels at the moment there's no end in sight. Obviously I ask the ex every month to reapply etc for a single mortgage/ loan which would give me the release but he's clearly making no effort.
Has anyone else experienced this and found a way to move forwards?
Any advice gratefully received xx

There should have been a deadline on the consent order. If there wasn't, it can be amended under the Slip Rule.

Of more concern, though, is the fact that the house should never have been transferred without the lender consenting on the transfer deed.

It sounds, from what you've said, that your solicitor has been negligent. Ithink you should go to her boss and ask for it to be sorted out or you'll consider making a negligence claim against them.
