I don't understand how you were 'used' Confused
Do you not have enough money for food or something?

why would you expect a return invite - you didn't really click?

HerHissyness · 17/04/2011 11:53

I don't understand. Could you expand a little?

thaigreencurry · 17/04/2011 11:55

I'm confused. Are you saying that your colleague brought friend who wasn't very nice and you feel used because you haven't had a return invite? Confused

PhishFoodAddiction · 17/04/2011 11:56

If you didn't like this colleague's friend then why would you want a return invitation?

I think you are over-reacting a little bit.

Agree with Laurie's post.

DuelingFanjo · 17/04/2011 11:57

also confused.

Celibin · 17/04/2011 12:27

Sorry for lack of info But your replies interesting.Uninvited visitor was polite but found out she was looking for things Tried to flog me something then asked for refs for herjobs .Found out she was disliked by ex colleagues (one phoned me and told me no one liked her there as she wasa sneak) I think they were warning me but too late Think dinner too intimate on first meeting and why not arrange to meet elsewhere first ? She has been rated by my colleagues as v rude

OP posts:
usualsuspect · 17/04/2011 12:29

oh well ...put it down to experience and move on

HerHissyness · 17/04/2011 12:48

So your colleague brought her to dinner at your house and this woman then tried to sell you something and then asked for references.

I hope you said NO!

V Rude indeed.

sayithowitis · 17/04/2011 13:19

So how did the uninvited friend's ex-work colleague get hold of your phone number?

LIZS · 17/04/2011 13:25

all you lost was the cost of dinner and an evening's time - move on. Your gripe is with your collegaue surely ? Just say no to future requests

FetchezLaVache · 17/04/2011 13:33

Goodness- I think you should be delighted not to have got a return invite from this woman- how very rude!

Celibin · 17/04/2011 16:16

LizS Yes everyone agrees with you Bang on She knew her v well and that she knew would not be my type Aftershe admitted it was a kind of social work -the friend had little chnce to "meet someone nice" I mean I am glad i am nice but not a charity organisation No one else likes her I no longer do anything with colleague and so when she begged to come on hol with me I refused. She has no friends where she has moved to when normally i would have visited her

thaigreencurry · 17/04/2011 17:27

Still confused.

She wanted a reference, what on earth were you expected to write? You met her once at a dinner party, how can you assess her suitability for jobs?

You have a colleague who begs to go on holiday with you. Hmm

slartybartfast · 17/04/2011 17:29
