Golf? [big grandad yawn emoticon]

Think I'd rather find he'd been looking at boobs Grin

bigTillyMint · 05/04/2011 10:30

God, at least your DH's look at semi-interesting stuff - my DH looks at finance stuff the whole time [bleurgh]

TobyLerone · 05/04/2011 10:31

My boyfriend and I went shopping for kitchen-related stuff for his flat not long ago and he insisted on researching everything and then taking his iPad all around town with the list on.

I think he is might be gay.

noddyholder · 05/04/2011 10:31

My dp spends hours looking at leads for all his music page after page of black cables with different bits on the ends Hmm

melodyangel · 05/04/2011 10:32

Morloth - God yes every bloody thing! I wanted a lovely Roberts radio for my Birthday (30th) but he decided the sound quality wasn't good enough! I don't care 'tis want I wanted!!!!

My DP has a thing for microphones. Oh and recording studio design! I get updates it's frilling.

SpringchickenGoldBrass · 05/04/2011 10:34

As a happily single person I don't get this happening.
WHat I get is coming back to MN to find that DS has added comments of his own when I left the window open. He is only 6 so at least they are not so much abusive as, just, well, 6 year old stuff.

ethelina · 05/04/2011 11:01

Mine spends most of his time on short circuit racing porn pah

AtYourCervix · 05/04/2011 11:05

Train simulators

MackerelOfFact · 05/04/2011 11:06

I think the kettle thing might be a symptom of a bigger problem. I have my suspicions that he actually paid for tea on a recent work trip. He's obviously realised he can get it better elsewhere and is researching his options.

TeamLemon · 05/04/2011 11:16

DH was hiding away in the corner of the living room, laptop open, eyes agog. "Oh yeah baby! I have got to get me some of that!" he moaned in a turned on kind of way.
Shock

He was looking at Star Wars Lego on eBay and had found a Millennium Falcon or some other Lucas shitola.

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 05/04/2011 11:20

Morloth - yes, drives me mad. On one memorable occasion he started researching our next car the day after we bought one Hmm

He can also spend hours on those car configurator things that they have on manufacturer websites, messing about choosing different options and god knows what.

Notquitegrownup · 05/04/2011 11:24

Teamlemon Grin

Morloth - another one here. Of course, by the time the research has been done, the models he has been looking for are unavailable/been replaced by new ones - it can take years for us to buy something new

Grumpyoldhorsewoman · 05/04/2011 11:26

Tammy Wynette, Daniel O'Donnell and Isla Grant (look her up) on You Tube. Sick.

TeamLemon · 05/04/2011 11:33

The research! Oh Lord the research!!
DH particularly enjoys going into PC World, Currys, Comet etc on a Saturday afternoon and asking the shop monkeys in depth technical questions about their products. He watches them flounder for a bit, squirming and bluffing their way before he starts spouting about the specifications and then walks out without buying anything.

He needs to get a life.

NettleTea · 05/04/2011 11:39

mine has spent 4 years looking for the perfect TV - I honestly dont think the one he wants has been created yet, it needs all these funny gadgets, connections and specs.
Thats if he is not researching the variations in camouflage patterns used on different types of British military para smocks, all from the same era, but not QUITE the same (he has bought £££££££££s of them, photographed them and tried to patch them all together to make the complete pattern, but they all seem to have variation for some reason, almost as if whoever made them just didnt actually care......) and now he has moved on to airfix commando models, and spotting the inconsistencies in the manufacture of those......

I do love him though. I think there is something in that obsessive quirkiness that appeals to me. But then I can be equally obsessive about things too - dont get me started on cloth nappies.......

TheCrackFox · 05/04/2011 11:41

DH has googled both golf but also gardening.

Sob.

He used to be such a rebel but is now firmly middle aged.

QueeferSutherland · 05/04/2011 16:51

I have posted this a million times before, but I once saw DH had googled "game birds". I, with my mind in the gutter, though it was like Adult Friend Finder.

He was looking for a grouse supplier.Blush

KatieScarlett2833 · 05/04/2011 16:53

Mine regularly looks at houses that are for sale.

Not because he's planning to leave or we are planning to move.

Just because he likes to look at the decor/features of other peoples houses.

I feel violated by his usage of house-porn, should I see someone?

paddypoopants · 05/04/2011 17:00

I opened the laptop this morning to find about 15 pages open full of garden strimmers and their attachments. WTF? I presume that's why he didn't come to bed until midnight.

BeakerTheMuppetMuppet · 05/04/2011 17:00

Thank goodness i've found this thread

i have 'found' in 'favourites'

this

yes, this can only mean one thing can't it?

he's going to buy MORE VINYL Blush

oh, the shame

foundwanting · 05/04/2011 17:02

I admit I had been a bit grumpy, but was surprised to see DH had googled PMT. How sweet, I thought, he's trying to understand.

It stands for Premier Music Technology. Now the 32nd guitar-related site on his favourites list.

tokenwoman · 05/04/2011 17:12

noddeyholder - cables !! the cost of them and the length they will go to get them each promising a better sound quality the living room has what is called a nerds nest of cables
breaker vinyl !! the same I woulnt mind, but we've gone digital and he insits i sit and listen to each new aquisition with the same sense of awe
are both your DP audiophiles by any chance?

the only dirty stuff i could find is his sort of porn - car engines

i dont look anymore nothing worth worrying about

BonzoDooDah · 05/04/2011 17:54

Mackerel the shame - I fear for you. He wants something that gets hotter faster and has tasted the tea of others ... maybe you need to spice up your tea drinking habits, get some new cups, try some chai, ask him what he really fancies.

lazarusb · 05/04/2011 20:09

Men....they're all the same aren't they?! Grin Dh looks at camera lenses of varying dimensions with degrees of lustful dribbling Wink
