I have had gastric flu since sunday. DS (15 mo) has had a burst eardrum and ear infection since saturday. DH has got up every night this week to look after us both (DS waking about 5-6 at least every night) and then getting up at 6am every morning with DS when he wakes so I can lie in and rest.

He has taken the week off work to keep DS out of my hair. He has bought me OK! magazine to read, gone to Sainsbury's every day to buy tempting treats to try and get me to eat, and has done all the tidying, housework and bathing, feeding, etc of DS. He is so great

But, how on earth do I thank him? I really feel he deserves a treat but can't think what to get him. He is so exhausted. His hobbies are all nerdy and I am not up to cooking romantic meal yet. Is a 'World's Best Dad' balloon delivered to his work a bit sad? Would a man appreciate that sort of thing? I have up to £50 to spend. Any ideas???

This morning I was up at 6am with DS and we went out for a walk so DH could lie-in in peace and quiet (small flat) and we brought home fresh croissants and pain au chocolat for his brekkie! He got to lie-in until 10am!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Lucky boy! Going to leave the balloon idea, although he works in a small team of all-women so I don't think he would have piss taken, but instead will plan a few more special treats for most days next week.

We are trying to save money to buy a new home early next year, so I may rent DH out if anyone is willing to pay a few quid? He is very useful and quite nice arm candy if you need to take him anywhere . Offers please!
