what will gp do?
Blush

Clearly the GP will do all sorts of unnecessary rudeness with your dh's willy Hmm
Why should he be embarassed? If he's havign an issue he probably needs a checkover to see if there's a physical problem. If not, then he needs to work on whatever it is that's making things difficult, wether that's depression, stress, tiredness, etc. If you are embarassed and giggly about this it's not going to help at all.

chocolaterules · 22/02/2011 15:58

i am not giggly
thanks.

I think I just did share, no?
Your OP was pretty much just Blush which led me to believe that you are both embarassed. If you want more advice, then why don't you elaborate?
right back at you

brimfull · 22/02/2011 16:02

def get him to see GP
my brother had erection problems
turned out he had pituitary tumour
don't mean to scare you but your GP will take it seriously

chocolaterules · 22/02/2011 16:03

A general health check I imagine, BP/urine sample etc.
Some medication is not suitable for use alongside viagra.
Is it a physical problem, i.e health related, or a psychological one?

chocolaterules · 22/02/2011 16:07

i dont know malificence.
problem been areound for a very long time though

easily could be related to stress, tiredness, but also to smoking.
i just hoped the gp could write a prescription - obviously we both hoped thats what they woudl do.

If he's a smoker with ED (erectile difficulties) the first thing his GP will suggest is stopping smoking, because smoking can cause circulatory problems.

However, from the experiences of friends, it can be quite easy to get a prescription. You should be aware that it doesn't work for everyone, though, and he may have to pay for the medication (not an NHS prescription fee, the whole retail price.)

chocolaterules · 22/02/2011 16:20

thanks oldlady

mumnset is always my first port of call, i realise there are other websites and may well look there but i have good faith someone would advise.

OP posts:
chocolaterules · 22/02/2011 16:21

and i agree, he has stopped smoking before which made a big difference.

my husband has used a herbal product called Kamagra - his friends use it too.
(some cos they are getting older, struggling to keep it up, some use it as novelty thing)

It's readily available on the internet, in gels or tablets and it works.

Just throwing that in, in case it's of any interest!

2010Dad · 22/02/2011 18:14

curlycarla, don't really want to be the one to bust your DH and his mates, but as others will verify - Kamagra is exactly the same active ingredient as in Viagra - just made in India cheaply (but is perfectly safe)

It's not herbal though!

Taghain · 22/02/2011 18:24

Doctor will check things like blood pressure, heart function etc; but they will have seen it all before so don't be embarassed. As the adverts say, 40% of men over 40 suffer (although obv this includes the over 70s, too).

If there's a choice, go for one of the other drugs rather than Viagra. If you need fast action choose Levitra (works in 15 mins, so I'm told) or Cialis which is much more long-lasting.

chocolaterules · 23/02/2011 08:49

finally managed to get back here.
thanks for info.
that's helpful

thanks strawberry.
it is a matter of persuading him to go.
we know we have to have to go for a smear, but not all women do go. for a man to suffer with ED is an admission of failure Sad

There are several totally natural ways of boosting micro-circulation - Ginseng, Gingko biloba and pomegranate extract all act as vaso dilators.

If you are over 40, a good ginseng and gingko supplement is highly beneficial for men and womens general and especially sexual health.

Sierra19 · 23/02/2011 16:05

You can buy it online from Lloyds pharmacy legally. You fill out a questionnaire and doc gets back to you very quickly.

Viagra and generic silendifil (Sp? Might be silendafil...) can be bought from loads of online pharmacies quite easily, following an "online consultation" (half a dozen or so multiple choice questions).
Just be wary of "Express Pharmacy" though , because their "discreet, signed-for" delivery /packaging, landed next door in an unsealed box, with no doubt a chuckling postie and neighbours who now know more about me than I'd like... But that's a whole other thread.
Oh, and I can confirm, silendifil does the job for half the price of the blue pill.

BarbarianMum · 23/05/2015 07:25

Or instead of pushing your choice of drug at the OP you could remind her that self medication could be dangerous to her dh and he really needs to be checked out by a GP first Hmm
