Birthday Party for a 3 year old

My daughter turns 3 on the 29th March and apparently she would like a party because everyone is having one in her class at nursery.

Can anybody suggest a not so expensive place to hold a party for 15 toddlers with entertainment in chertsey surrey area?

You thought about Horton Park Farm?

It's fab and I bet a party would be lovely there!

Parties are nicer at home. And you don't have to invite many kids - two or three will do.

thanks, this is great idea, will get more details on the venue.

like Greeninkmama i would be tempted to do a party at home you could do your own party games, do a pass the parcel making sure every child wins something Wink keeping everyone happy Smile . Do a few finger food things sausage rolls little sandwiches a few biscuits and dont forget to get a few volunteer mums to stay and help. I helped out at a lot of my god daughters parties my cousin (god daughters mum) always hired a bouncy castle we did all the games with the little ones (unfortunately my daughters birthday was in feb so not ideal for home party). An alternative from home is can you hire a room at the local town hall or parish rooms (attended and helped at a few of these ones too )Does a local swimming baths have a toddler play area you could hire for your party and cater for yourself to keep costs down?

One of the mums did a home party for her 5yo. Invited 3 or 4 boys I think.

They had a great time!

I did a joint one with a friend for her 4yo and my 5yo, we split it all pretty much down the middle, about £15 a head in the end I suppose including fantastic entertainer and a cake from Waitrose....

Another friend did a great bowling party at a small bowling alley, only 4 lanes I think, it was brilliant fun! There were a good 20 kids though.

personally I wouldn't go too big on a 3yo party, there is plenty of time for that.

Plus, don't forget for 3yo the parents stay, for 5yo upwards they can drop off so you'll need somewhere that can hold a lot of people if you go for a larger do.

We went to a nice tiny play centre for a 3yo's party. One of those Launch Pad places in Farnham - dunno if you have something nice and small near you?

What is your budget realistically? how many would you need to cater to?

We had a party for a group of 2 year-olds recently at Egham Leisure Centre soft play. Not cheap at £160 for up to 16 kids, but you get 90 minutes of soft play with party tea and party bags included.

Would def recommend not doing party at home. Also did that and the cost/hassle were a lot more than just turning up.

15 is a ridiculous amount of children! I don't know why you'd even contemplate that many. Just have something small at home. DS1 just turned 3 and he had 5 friends come for 90 mins, we made pizzas (bases were ready, they just added stuff they liked), games for 30mins, eat pizza, do cake, party bags, send em home- job done! Was lovely and not stressful!

Invite three or four and let them do their own thing for an hour. Give them a butty and some cake. Sorted. :)

I have learned that the more effort you put into kids parties, the less they like it, and the more disapointed and frustrated the grown ups get. Let them just play, while you and their mum's have a natter.

It also breaks the "competitive party" shit that happens, and at that age, there's a LONG way to go!!!!

I would never have a party in my house, when you can afford to take them somewhere else.
a, they run riot
b, they make a hell of a mess
c, you don't want to stop them because they should be having fun.
d, you have to tidy up
e, you have to do all the work

take them to a small playcentre or leisure centre place. My friend hired leisure centre play area for an hour in Redhill, is that too far?
