Going to a naturist "health spa" in North London tomorrow. Anyone have any relevant experiences to share please?

Here you go TS - this will be right up your street!

OhLittleTownOfShirley · 27/12/2010 18:59

I'm laughing very hard at 'nothing you could put your finger on'

But I am drunk.

Hi TDada - I'm early 30s. And, now I've returned, I can advise it was gently agreeable. But I shan't be salacious - I fear I might be pilloried even more than is usual in this bearpit!

Hi TS- you made me smile with the phrase "gently agreeable". We all like gentle agreement. Take care

Et tu, TDada.

Firstly I feel I should confess I'm a dad not a mum, but having cared for my three daughters single handedly for the last seven years I don't feel entirely out of place!

My real reason for diving in here is to set the record straight in this thread titled 'Naturism'. Some (but by no means all) businesses that describe themselves as a 'Naturist Spa' are thinly disguised swingers clubs. The description in the OP of 'North London' suggests a particular spa I am aware of that I know falls into this category.

Such venues do not represent what naturism is about. Naturism is an enjoyment of non-sexual nudity for the relaxation and comfort it provides. It is a 'family friendly' lifestyle and these misnamed spas threaten to undermine that.

We believe that naturism has great benefits for children as it encourages a responsible and mature attitude towards the human body as well as respect for others of all shapes and sizes. Studies have shown that children growing up in naturist families are more confident and reach adulthood with far fewer hang-ups about their body, so are much less likely to suffer from eating disorders or to want plastic surgery.

Nations where social nudity is more accepted have lower rates of teenage pregnancy, abortions and STI's; much lower! I could go on, but hopefully I've made my point...

BN don't worry we know what ts is after, also you know being a man isn't an issue in most cases.

dejavuaswell · 28/12/2010 08:35

I'm trying hard to take my mind off another issue until the pharmacy opens.

BN - I suspect that being a lone-Dad caring for daughters and being into naturism at the same time might raise some issues, and eyebrows.

There is nothing wrong with being a lone-Dad in fact all credit to you. Ditto with naturism. The two together? Biscuit

British Naturism: I was referring to 'Elixir of Life' at Ally Pally - but I guess you thought I was referring to 'Rios' which, I concur, is far more swinger oriented. But that is rather too much for me!
