Bit worried about my mum in Knowsley

She is 70 and I have called her a couple of times this morning and had no answer. I don't think she would have gone out in this weather, does anyone know if it's still thick snow there? I have an aunt who lives a short drive away but I don't really want to call her because her husband is very ill with cancer and this will be his last Christmas. My mum is supposed to come to me in Devon on the 24th. I guess I'll just try again later.

Do you have any neighbours numbers that could knock for you and see if she is ok?

If you are really worried, thenask the police to do a concern for welfare check on her.

I'm in Liverpool and there's a few inches of snow here, but it hasn't snowed for a couple of days. Quite icy but haven't heard of proper snowed-in problems.

FIl lives in Fazackerly, if that's anywhere near her...?

BitOfFun · 21/12/2010 11:44

It will still be very snowy there, yes. There's not much moving at all.

Kendodd · 21/12/2010 11:44

I don't know any of her neighbours numbers otherwise I would do this. I have tried to call another aunt of mine who lives in Cornwall to see if she's heard from her.

A welfare check, what's that? The police just call round to see if she's ok?

Oh forgot to add, I couldn't get a reply from the Cornwall aunt.

If you are seriously concerned about her welfare, then call police ona non emergency number and tell them why you are concerned about not hearing from her. They will attend her address. Do you know if anyone else has a key or how hey may gain access because they may well put the door in if there is no reply. They should check with neighbours first. They will check hospitals too.

I am in Liverpool and work in Knowsley. Would you like me to go and check on her? (I have a sat nav so could find the address.)

atswimtwolengths · 21/12/2010 14:52

I have messaged you with my mobile number.

Kendodd · 21/12/2010 14:58

That is so so kind of you, thank you. I have spoken to my aunt in Cornwall she said she saw her about ten days ago and she was fine, so that's good. I will keep trying to call her and see how I get on.

Thank you all so much for your concern, I have just spoken to her and I was worried about nothing.
