His ex wife keeps posting wierd shit about him on Facebook

DP has been divorced for 3 years and seperated for 4. I met him 2 years ago and within a few months of us moving in together, his ex wife sent me a friend request on facebook.

Wanting to keep everything mature and civil I accepted and she sent me a message saying hello and wanted to break the ice etc etc. Fair enough.

But since then she's been posting really wierd shit every few days. Some of it in relation to her current boyfriend ("Lauren says: I wish my boyfriend wouldn't use me for sex, I'm worn out" - "Lauren says: "I think my boyfriend only wants me here for sex but he says we don't do enough of it but he's at me every night" ) And then she'll post stuff about her mental health "Lauren: Thinking the doctor has got my schizoid/bipolar/social phobia (insert mental illness here, she's had them all) diagnosis wrong, I am addicted to sex though which is why I can't get a job but nobody understands" etc

Its just really wierd stuff all the time. At one point she posted that she was leaving her boyfriend to move in with a man she'd "met" on the internet that she's never met in person before and this saga went on for weeks, now she's back with her wierd boyfriend.

But anyway, all this is besides the point, what annoys me is that she keeps posting stuff about DP. This is some of what she's posted:

"Its not my fault I can't get a job because I suffer from social phobia, its my ex-husbands fault because he'd never let me leave the house or have any friends, he gave me cabin fever"

"Wish I could get a job, my ex husband forced me to work as a cleaner to pay off his debts but I can't even get a job like that now"

"I've never been with a man I love. I didn't love my ex husband but I grew to like him a lot"

"My ex husband put me on a dating site because I said I wanted to be on my own for a while"

"I'm so sad and despressed, men have always used me, my ex husband only got with me for sex"

"I taught my ex husband how to cook and clean"

etc etc. She's doing my head in. Some of it is actually quite offensive but when I ask him about it he just shakes his head and says "ignore her, I told you she's wierd"

Could you ignore it?

I wouldn't be friends with her. Then you wouldn't know about any of this weirdness.

IngridFletcher · 02/08/2010 11:12

Delete her as a friend.

ForestryTrees · 02/08/2010 11:12

Do you reckon she's doing it for my benefit?

Well, she doesn't sound like the brightest crayon in the box does she? Delete her. No good is coming from you seeing these status updates every few days. If your DP has shown no signs in your relationship of doing the things she is accusing him of, then don't let it get to you.

ChickensHaveNoEyebrows · 02/08/2010 11:14

Why should you care? She is not part of your life. Delete!

compo · 02/08/2010 11:15

Delete her then it won't affect you any more

do they have children together?

Wanderingsheep · 02/08/2010 11:15

Delete delete delete!

thesunshinesbrightly · 02/08/2010 12:35

Delete her what a loon. Of course she is doing it for your benefit, my Exp did this it's really pathetic.

Dinkytinky · 02/08/2010 13:30

Deffo delete- or you could get a cease and disist order (sp?) but given her other comments this might make the situation worse.
She probably is trying to get at you in a weird way but as long as your dp isn't making you clean to pay off his debts/controlling you I wouldn't worry about it.

usualsuspect · 02/08/2010 13:34

Delete and block her

AllarmBells · 02/08/2010 14:03

I have a family member who posts similar stuff about all sorts of people - alternating with sweetness and light "hello trees hello sky" type posts. You can hide her updates without blocking her if you'd like the option to see what's being said without it being on your homepage.
Ignore ignore ignore.

Tortington · 02/08/2010 14:06

send her a solicitors letter - and a clipping from the papee saw last week wehre someone got 10k compensation for libel on fb.

foureleven · 02/08/2010 14:13

Why have you still got her as a friend?

I know its tempting but just delete her and move on. Does he have kids with her? If so then yes its important to stay civil. But if not then why on earht has she got anything to do with the two of you?

It does seem like she is saying some of it for your benefit. Or maybe the benefit of family members on his side that she is 'friends' with.

personally I wouldnt pay any attention adn follow your instincts on the guy yourself.

ZippyPippy · 02/08/2010 14:19

Is DP friends with her on FB? She might be doing it for his benefit too. If so you both need to delete her.

ValiumSingleton · 02/08/2010 14:22

Delete her, delete your x. delete any mutual friends who use face book to make a point.

delete delete delete delete

NO WAY would I accept any FI from my x or his family or his brothers' GFs past or present.

kittyonthebeam · 02/08/2010 14:34

you can also 'HIDE' all her posts. And don't forget to alter your settings to cut her out of all your own posts and photos, etc.

If it still comes up then do as zippy says and BOTH delete her.

BuzzingNoise · 02/08/2010 14:45

Delete her or at least hide her. It's her problem, not yours.

I also think shes only added you so she can see what you are up to with her ex husband.. her motives are not to be friendly.

LittleMissHissyFit · 02/08/2010 23:07

foureleven has hit the nail on the head.

You can mute her on FB. I've find that with some friends on FB.
