brother in law wont move his bloody car

My brother in law parked his car on my drive as he had two. It was going to be there for a weekend until he got rid of it. He didnt move it but said it wouldnt be there long, he was just in the process of getting rid. Then he lost his job and his licence in the space of a week so cant even move it himself now. And now he has moved 70 miles away as he was having "trouble" (god knows what) here.

Both me, my mum (who is my landlord) and my hubby have been on at him to move it, but he keeps saying that he is sorting it and then NOT DOING ANYTHING!!!

i'm not positive how long its been there as he lost his licence before christmas, but i think he put it there around about october last year? Plus he had parked it there before as well, when he first got his second car.

I cant move it or scrap it as he has the keys and documents, and i cant even dump it cause its been seen on my drive! What can i do? Is it illegal for him to dump property on my land?

its really annoying me now that hes taking the piss, but i dont know what i can do

I hope someone can help, its really stressing me out. btw, we dont use our drive at the moment, but its hugely overgrown as we cant garden it (this is mainly whats bothering my parents) and as im quite a bit pregnant, my hubby will need to use the drive soon as he will be getting a new car

Thanks!!!

There is some sort of law that an abandoned car can be claimed by someone else as the legal owner after 3 months.

You need Mrs LeQueen - her dh "lost" a very expensive car with personalised licence plate when he left it behind for a several months when they moved house!

Give him notice to move it and then sell it for scrap. Someone will pay you a minimal amount for it.

here you go, report it as abandoned

you could also break in, take of the hand brake and park it on the road, then report it as abandoned if it's an issue it being on the drive.

you won't into trouble - he will as it is still registered to him.

Get your DH to push it into the road
