Archers: is Brenda pregnant?

Just listened, but the dryer is rumbling away and the radio is turned quite low while DS settles down, so I kept missing bits. When Brenda got home from her interview, was she saying things like she needed the loo, and wanted a piece of toast, etc etc?

Looking at that written down it sounds pretty unlikely but I thought that was what I heard ...

It does seem like a surprise pg has been foreshadowed for her, after all the chat recently about how she doesn't want to be tied down by a child just yet (when Tom clearly is quite keen to breed) ... and also the dramatic tension it would create with Helen, etc.

Do you think that Brian is gearing up for another storyline? - he has come out with some corking sexist remarks recently eg describing Nic's job at The Bull as 'pin-money'.

Sorry to go OT, but when they had the Roman party, and all the villagers were invited, who were the neighbours who complained about the noise? Wasn't everyone at the party?

I think they have been pushing the pregnant brenda storyline for a while now - all of that emphasis on getting a career before marriage, the perfect job coming along, waking in the night and not sleeping well......

It is a great storyline imo, lots of opportunity for sturm and drang.

Did laugh yesterday when David said to Brian that he hoped that Pip wouldn't turn out like Kate.

Duffy - I certainly will condemn Kate as a lousy mother if she buys clothes for her two sons.....as Nolly is a girl!!!

Useless fact alert - Kate always copies me when having dcs......Phoebe born 3 months after dd1, Nolly about four days before dd2 (but she was early - Nolly not dd2) and then Sipho was born just after dd3 - do you think I should sign up for Felpersham Tech as well.....?

See now I think they are gearing up for Helen to have a baby with Ian as it would be an ideal solution for her, as she has already said he was perfect but off limits once while they were discssing Helen wanting a baby over tea.

I wanted to murder Vicky (or is she Vikki?) yesterday too, insisting on turning up on Brendurr's doorstep the instant she returned from her interview (if indeed the interview happened - she was suspiciously vague about it, don't you think?) Vicky/Vikki is surely the kind of MIL who would insist on being present in the delivery room......she clearly has form with the calves

Time after time I find myself absolutely loathing every single character in the Archers, and then wondering why on earth I've been listening for so many years. Still tune in every night, though!

Since we're asking random questions here, who is Kirsty? I'm a sporadic listener but have listened on and off for about 15 years and I have no idea who she is. She was chatting away with Kenton last time I listened and I was just thinking "who is she? who is she?" and waiting for someone to say her name!

I think Kirsty works with Helen and is Helen's mate.

I was confused last night cos' I thought Helen's dad in the rush to stop his daughter using a sperm bank was trying to edge Patrick the birdspotter towards Helen.

But wasn't Kirsty birdwatching with him?

Kirsty was also the girlfriend of the chap (was he called Sam?) who had a thing with Ruth - when she nearly left David. I can't remember where she came from originally though!

There's outrage on the R4 Archers board about the whole Hellin-getting-pregnant story....not to mention much hilarity about her 'slot' at the fertility clinic...... Seems to me to be a completely unrealistic storyline. She's an ex-anorexic with major control issues and just seems to think she can tootle off and buy a baby instore, as it were, with pregnancy resulting in about a week. Surely there should be some element of psychological assessment at these clinics??

I am really really looking forward to Joooood dumping Pip.

Personally I would hate to see more bloody babies. It was enough with Lindas' step daughter and Helen and the other one.
