One thing that's really great about podcasts is the ability to sequence and get more specified -- you're not limited to either only a specialist audience (a lot of maths podcasts end up with a limiting set of audience prereqs) or only a generalist introduction. Because it's asynchronous, you can build out little series that get a bit deeper into things.
So for example this Episode 133: Motor Control can say, hey, before you listen to this, go and listen to Episode 132: The Muscular System, and Episode 38: Neurons and Synapses. And depending on your familiarity with the subject, you can go back to a more introductory episode to get more context first, or you can dive right in.
