Just as above.
Does anyone have any recommendations for podcasts I can listen to when driving with the kids. I normally listen to luanna, my therapist ghosted me, the Monday Club so really high brow with foul language 🤣🤣🤣
Easy listening and funny. Does it exist?

Mine are young teens/tweens and we like the history podcast

Sorry should have said for me to enjoy but just without the bad language. They are very young kids

I'll have a look at these.

The rest is entertainment with Richard Osman and Marina Hyde. The only problem is they do love shouting see you next Tuesday on the Thursday edition!

Try “You’re Dead To Me” on BBC Sounds. They do 2 versions of each episode - 1 with all the rude bits/swearing taken out and 1 with them left in. They put “Radio Edit” in the clean versions.

Cheepcheepcheep · 23/02/2025 11:17

Hang on, you mean your kids don’t demand ‘their’ songs and you get to listen to what you want?! 😆

Depends how old they are but for me it was -

Under 12/18m-ish: too young for the content to be shocking so whatever I wanted. However, oftentimes screaming so I couldn’t hear it anyway.

Over 12/18m-ish: demanding Justin Fletcher, nursery rhymes and the soundtrack to the Smeds and Smoos with a vengeance…

Love You're Dead To Me.

@Cheepcheepcheep they did go through a demanding songs phase but when it's a long journey and I'm on my own they know not to ask. Too many requests is so distracting so it's my choice. I also get bored of music after a while and want to change.
They are 2 and 6 so asking lots of questions!

I'll give your dead to me a go!

I love The Rest is Entertainment!!!

I was the same with kids music choices at that age didn't mind for short journeys but not for hours on end. Podcasts weren't a thing then but we used to listen to age appropriate audio books such as Roald Dahl that we could all enjoy.

plinkityplink · 24/02/2025 08:34

Sawbones? If you like low level medical stuff? Sliced bread?

Fair play to you, I have a 2 and a 4 - need to train mine up!

@Cheepcheepcheep it was far safer for me to say no if it's just me in The car and 60 miles on the motorway. They were asking for too many changes and I was too obliging. One sleeps and the other just plays with a toy so I can enjoy adult content minus the bad language.

I like the podcast of Jon Richardson’s absolute radio show, he’s usually joined by Kerry Goldliman or Angela Barnes.
Also John Robins and Elis James with producer Dave Masterman on BBC sounds.
and Walking the Dog with Emily Dean.

Funderthighs · 27/06/2025 08:05

Just A Minute on BBC Sounds. I listened to it on the radio as a child and it still makes me chuckle now.

bonnemaman1990 · 27/06/2025 10:33

Life changing on BBC sounds. Half hour episodes which have my kids gripped. Some may not be suitable for younger children.

BedlingtonTerrierOwner · 27/06/2025 10:45

My kids love Uncanny, but obviously, it depends on how likely they are to get scared.
