Did anyone catch the name of the geneticist on R4 Today this morning?

There was a geneticist on Today this morning talking about how he had discovered that his parents weren't actually his real parents when he was in his 60s - I only managed to catch his first name (Paul), and wondered if anyone knows his surname please as I would like to follow his story (he is waiting to discover who his father is).

Yes, I was very happy not to be in it but also really down for about a week after watching it. It was such a lovely project and involved the expertise of so many people with more than enough glory to go round. So sad to see it with so many 'errors' and colleagues portrayed in a way I completely did not recognise.

Sadly some people don’t understand the value of team work and that the correct way to do things can be painstakingly slow. I felt very sorry for the misrepresentation of your colleagues and the University.

He's also on a recent episode of the Infinite Monkey Cage where he mentions it.

Yes I listened to thst. Ws he the one who only found out when his US visa was refused?

Welled up at the end.

Yes, that's him. You can find out about me tracing his father in this podcast I did with him. :)

Thanks! Yes, it's such a shame. And so sad really given the amount of work that went into it by so many of us.

Yes - and the shocking thing is you have no control over how they portray you or what words they put in your mouth. I think that is probably the first time living practising archaeologists have been played by actors in a film. Really put the wind up me!

I was working on an apparently known female member of the aristocracy from around the 15th century when that film came out and was very relieved when it couldn't be that person - wrong sex!

I just listened to you speaking with Sir Paul Nurse about the discoveries he made in relation to his family origins.
It was absolutely fascinating.
Thank you @TKingG Flowers
