I could do with some laughs right now!

Any good recommendations please? My favourite comedians include Victoria Wood, Michael Macintyre, Tom Allen and Dave Gorman. What will I like?

Josh Widdecome and Rob Beckett are doing The Lockdown Parenting Podcast. There have been about 6 episodes so far, each week with a celebrity parent. So funny.

Gossip Mongers - Joe Wilkinson, David Earl and Poppy Hillstead reading gossip/rumours

Dear Joan and Jericha - Julia Davis and Vicki Pepperdine as agony aunts. If you’ve ever seen any of Julia Davis’ work then yes it’s just as disgustingly brilliant!

I've just binged St Elwick's Parish Newsletter Podcast: a spoof parish newsletter from the pleasantly nightmarish village of St Elwick's, near Exeter. It's 'written' by Malcolm Durridge (Mike Wozniack from Man Down/Small Scenes on R4) and features an array of irritating neighbours contributing 'local history', or 'art competitions' as Malcolm slowly unravels over his teenage son Paul's vapeing habit, or the street's slowness to take bins in after collection day. The lockdown editions have been very funny - Stephanie Cole popped up as a furious and quite sweary 'village elder' fed up of meals being left on her step and do-gooders like Malcolm 'warm-calling' her to check she's ok.

Have you tried the Richard Herring interviews recorded in the Leicester square theatre? Recently listened to him interviewing Matt Lucas and Greg Davies which I really enjoyed

@IsMiseMorag
Thank you so much for flagging that up - that podcast is a complete gem which I would have otherwise missed were it not for seeing it here. I absolutely ADORE Mike Wozniak and his voice is absolutely gorgeous.

And another heartfelt THANK YOU from me!
I've just started listening to it, will listen to the rest tomorrow, so, for the first time in ages I've got something to look forward to! Smile

@IsMiseMorag Another big thank you for the St Elwick’s recommendation. So much middle class, middle England micro aggression - love it!

Wheel of Misfortune is a BBC Sounds comedy podcast about "the bad things that make us feel good" ... Fern Brady and Alison Spittle ask people to send in their embarrassing stories. It is hilarious but not for children's ears. The Daily Mail got cross about it but that was an endorsement. It's made me laugh out loud in the middle of the night (insomnia) and woken up my husband.
