The great JF himself talking about it, followed by Stephanie Cole's reflections. Never seen such a positive set of comments on a Guardian article!

It would be great if the whole tour sells out, it’s hard to believe Radio 4 pays well (unless you are John Humphrey groan).

I love Cabin Pressure. I'd never heard of it before except on here, but I've got the boxset and have listened to it a few times. Yellow Car is often played (and causes arguments amongst the dc).

Love Cabin Pressure so much! The dc and I are pretty much word perfect, we've listened to them so often! Did anyone hear the John Finnemore episode of the 'My Teenage Diary' series on R4 recently? It was very funny and rather endearing.

I like the Souvenir Programme too, amd agree with a pp that the exam question sketch is hilarious. Also love the goldfish/Neptune one and the one with the adventurers having to solve the riddle to get through the gate. Grin

JF just seems so lovely too. I can't imagine him not being a nice person in rl .

Oh we are word perfect too, including the 7yo, who plays a mean game of Yellow Car.

We have a long drive coming up towards Christmas, does anyone who loves Cabin Pressure have any recommendations for anything else we could listen to?

Double Acts was good but possibly not obvious material for a 7yo.

Has anyone got any links to any of the episodes that still work?
I love this show and would love to listen to it again (discovered it pre CB mania)

Just found out I got tickets to see the next series of souvenir programme being recorded at the end of the month. Very excited!

Does anyone know how long stuff usually takes to air?

Report
Bittermints · 11/01/2019 21:17

Me too, @GoGoJo! I've been before but can't remember how long it takes before it goes out on air.

Radio Times has a Top 30 Radio Shows, and Cabin Pressure isn't in it. How did that happen?

Cabin Pressure is on again on Rado 4 Extra - Sundays 11pm from 24th March. Second series starting with Helsinki.

There was one on the Radio recently (Helsinki), worth a listen. Every episode is a classic. Its like Father Ted, you can happily argue with yourself about which is the best episode and never make a decision as they're all so good.

New souvenir programme out today.

My unreasonably large radio crush was not quashed in any way by seeing him live.

The first sketch in episode 2 was terrific and would fit right in in Mumsnet. We were at the live recording for that one, the driving test and the Noah sketch in episode 1, probably some of the others too.
