Anyone else hear the first one in this new series? Link to i-player I thought it was pretty good. Celia Imrie and Charles Edwards (Edith's editor chappie from Downton).

Really loved today's episode. It was so Mumsnetty, what with the gap year and the less/fewer confusion.

NaughtToThreeSadOnions · 13/11/2015 22:02

Preferred today's to last weeks even though last weeks had the JF in it himself I love his voice. I love Rebecca front who was in today's too.

But totally confused to what the connection is now because today's was set in Germany so no connection to the Bath company and no manilpuation as such.

Bea · 26/11/2015 23:59

the last one was lovely!!! Mat Baynton! It was so gentle and subtle... a great one to end the series with.
I love JF's writing, it's so clever and well thought out!
I hope we hear from him again soon!

The Souvenir Programme returns early in January. We were at a recording last night and enjoyed it, but I do wonder if it might now have run its course.

Well I think all sketch shows have there day, and Im not partially bothered by Souvenier Programme, I like it dos it's JF.

I think I'd like him to do another sitcom, I really miss cabin pressure!

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 27/11/2015 12:15

Yes, so do I and so would I!

Agree that the last one was lovely - gentle and subtle sums it up perfectly.

I think the Reception/Security desk was at the bath company from the first episodes wasn't it?

Am jealous of you going to a recording Gasp0de how much material do they do for a half hour episode?

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 30/11/2015 18:20

I think the recording lasted about an hour. When we've been before the material we heard ended up spread through several different episodes, so I don't think that will make just one programme.

Good spot on the company! I forgot to check that. In that case, was there any link at all to the one set in Germany or the one in the 19th century?

We wondered if Grizelda was the daughter of Rebecca Front from the previous one. She said her daughter was writing Brony fan fiction in English... Grizelda sounded UK raised though, bilingual rather than someone who had come to the UK to work...

The 19th century one didn't seem to fit at all...?

Interesting that they record and then edit across multiple episodes, am jealous of you getting to go to them. I would try to get tickets for so much stuff if I was nearer London.

NaughtToThreeSadOnions · 01/12/2015 03:34

Yes rockandroll I thought grizelda was the link to Rebecca's episode, this maybe my memory playing tricks again but didn't rebbeccas character say her daughters name was grizelda, or her name?

Yeah I can't think of any link to the episode John was in himself, in fact that's my least favourite which is a Shame, as I want to enjoy it dos he's in it.

R4 · 01/12/2015 10:41

Finally caught up with the last one.
I don't think that Rebecca Front and Jenny Bede were mother and daughter. Wasn't the daughter school-age, in Germany and into fanfic. Grizelda is working age, in UK and into History. She was receptionist at Willards so we have the connection.Smile
But I still don't see where The Goliath Window episode fits into the connection. I did enjoy that one, it was bonkers.

hackmum · 02/12/2015 19:25

I've come late to this too. I've only listened to two so far, the Celia Imrie one and the Goliath Window one. Both were excellent and so very different from each other. The Celia Imrie one could have been written by Thurber.

He's so clever, John Finnemore. I love the Souvenir Programme and Cabin Pressure too.
