Is that a ferret in your (Gr)undies or are you just pleased to see me? Discuss The Archers vermin (so many possibilities!) here.

I'm not sure that ferrets cannot through a thumb sized hole - rats can, and mice can fit through a pen sized hole. But I know the SWs will have researched such a statement carefully Easter Wink

Plot theory 7876312: it isn't Jess that Knob has got up the duff, it was someone else. So he can take Jess's paternity test and be in the clear but the Child Maintenance is for an entirely different baby!Shock

Coldtea The shop's in a shed though at the farm so it IS Hellin's 'shed' passion Grin.

Oh and mink ref. the letter; I don't know how good your postal service is, but it usually takes more than a day now anywhere, even 1st. class, and would it be 1st class?

Must say Henry seems remarkably lacking in personality. Surely they could provide him with more than three words of baby-talk at a time?

He's been bullied into silence hasn't he Zero? remember the last time we heard him say "I don't want to" finish his cereal. He's also suffering from the soap child's disease of going to bed without complaint and STAYING there ! Something mine never had Grin.

Meg, no, I'm sure that he said 'see for yourself' before handing her the letter. Hence the forgery theories.

The most difficult thing to forge would be the franking. Anything official like that would be franked, not stamped.

It's possible that I've overthought this.

Mara I was going to add that same sentiment about over thinking Grin to the end of my post about 'the letter'.

Yes Zero we're all intelligent ,in fact more intelligent than most IMO, but we DO seem to over infest in TA . We need HELP Grin

We do get letters after one day (I love the postal service) but I do accept we may just be lucky.

But yes it was my reading of that scene that he handed her the letter and said here see for yourself.

I am sure eventually we will have some tedious plotline over Henry's paternity too.

Gas - I don't have your faith in soc

BYOS, the thing to do is just to lie back and relax and not worry too much about all this stuff. I'm sure that's what my dear friend SOC would say, in fact has said to me many times now. I have utter faith in him.

Oh would to be private school for Henry, at least when he starts secondary if not primary. Knob wouldn't want him mixing with the local riff raff too much and, god forbid, play on the football team instead of rugby (cos posh schools do rugby and common schools do football right? Wink)

I have to ask...who or what is SOC? what does it stand for? Blush

Sean O'Connor - Archers EditorGrin

I can imagine, when the q of school comes up, Rob would say that since Helen isn't working there simply isn't the money for fees, but pehaps they'd be in a better position by the time the new baby is ready for prep ... He might even say it would be cruel to pursue a very academic path for Henry since they couldn't be sure of his other parent's capabilities. And after all he just loves working on the farm - no need to bury his nose in a book.

Grin thanks Zero

Yes, can imagine Rob treating his own child very differently to Henry. By then they will be married and Helen at home in the kitchen where she belongs. He controls every aspect of family life. She slowly begins to despise him and one day Knob has a little "accident". overinvested beyond help

Guess Rex will be appearing in the blog in the next ten minutes ...

Perhaps it is a bit silly that first Carol, then Richard, now some Fairbrothers have found their way back to Ambridge - while poor Debbie is still negotiating her way out of a black hole somewhere.

Report
Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 26/04/2015 19:29

Gosh, never mind those who are trying to get back to Ambridge, what about the dozens of people who live there who have not spoken for over a year now? I'd love to hear from Chris Carter, to name but one. Angry

Report
ZeroFunDame · 26/04/2015 19:33

Actually Rex sounded a bit like Chris. Perhaps ...?

Maybe Toby Fairbrother will have a gruff Tiger-y sort of voice. Redistribution of resources. Grin
