I have it on good authority that this is the thread that people enjoy more than the programme it's about Grin

The 'Jeremy Kyle' announcer is Alan Smith, who used to post on the BBC boards as 1eggor2 - quickly nicknamed to 'Eggy'. He was v funny and used to enjoy chatting with us.

I see he Twitters mobile.twitter.com/tweetalansmith and wondered if someone would like to post him a link to the thread and invite him over?

I don't twitteritter myself, so can't do it.

And welcome UpNorthAgain there are a few ex-mustardlanders here, although most of us go by different names now

Bluestocking · 11/01/2015 17:49

Thank you, CheeseBored, it was indeed The Darkling Thrush.

TopazRocks · 11/01/2015 18:33

Oh, yippee, I can post. I have a BOOP point after all. In fact I agree with BOOP Smile - the film was very good. I did hear most of the week-day episodes too but missed bits. So the film, with some reading of this thread in recent days, has helped enormously. I did like the scene with Kate and Phoebe, esp. Phoebe being the responsible one. In fact I agree with most of your points. Everyone's points, that is. I'm not just sucking up to BOOP. Grin

I like the Ambridge the musical idea. Could John Hannah not paly Jazzer? He can do the accent, I am sure he can even sing to the 'girls', I also think he has the range to do Jazzer in all his guises. The only problem might be age as I think JH is older than Jazzer, but then does J ever have birthdays? And JH has quite youthful looks IMO. Another casting idea - can Keeley Hawes not play one of the annoying women, so Helen, Kate or Fallon? KH is less annoying IMO but still annoying enough than Keira Knightley who might not be available due to mat leave anyway.

My less than BOOP point: can't Elizabeth find a wee corner at LL for Phil's piano? Surely, too, she'd love to feel she got something her siblings didn't get of their fathers'. Jill should not need to dump it/sell it. Which is what it sounded like she was planning. And wasn't Pip keen on playing?

BringYourOwnSnowman · 11/01/2015 18:55

The way Jill said about gettibg rid of memories sounded really sad. Sounded like she is tying it all up with Brookfield. If that has gone what's the point of keeping things

minkGrundy · 11/01/2015 19:06

Shockso he's really claiming it's not his?

BringYourOwnSnowman · 11/01/2015 19:06

Henry is turning into a chauvinist!!!

Weird. Maybe rob isn't the dad and Jess is manipulating them both. That would be a good plot twist!!

minkGrundy · 11/01/2015 19:07

JH youthful looks!?!

Shallishanti · 11/01/2015 19:08

no, he must be the father- she wouldn't claim that if it wasn't true- DNA will settle it and she must be confident of that

BringYourOwnSnowman · 11/01/2015 19:09

Is that a new Alan?

Jill inwardly hates the dopeys too!

BringYourOwnSnowman · 11/01/2015 19:11

She will have caused a lot of trouble by the time the DNA test came through if he stalls it

At least they remember its farming land

Shallishanti · 11/01/2015 19:12

he really doesn't know how these things work, does he?

minkGrundy · 11/01/2015 19:14

Wishful paternity. Notice he didn't deny it was possible.

Shallishanti · 11/01/2015 19:14

Helen...ask WHY she is saying Rob's the father!!!

BobbyBanana · 11/01/2015 19:16

So...how exactly is a DNA test enforced?
Just wondering what the procedure would be.....

Shallishanti · 11/01/2015 19:17

hah!
'now look here, I'm not the father...well, because I say so....I'm just not, OK...what do you mean maintenance...etc etc'
they must get a lot of that over there in Belfast.

enochroot · 11/01/2015 19:18

I think they will send him demands and eventually take him to court unless he takes the test and it proves he's not the father.

Is it me or does he sound genuinely shocked though?

minkGrundy · 11/01/2015 19:20

If you are married and can therefore be put on birth certificate afaik you have to take a paternity test to prove you are not the father or pay the maintenance.

If you are not on birth certificate I am not sure what happens as far as enforcing a pt. But legally all offspring of your spouse are considered yours until proven otherwise.

florencedombey · 11/01/2015 19:20

Because they were married when Jess conceived, legally Rob is presumed to be the father. So it's up to him to prove Jess wrong - ha ha ha.

BringYourOwnSnowman · 11/01/2015 19:21

I think he does

We all hate rob so much we automatically think the worst, but what if Jess was completely nuts and she is making it up?

Doesn't change the fact he's a controlling arse with Helen but would make the whole story more interesting and potentially longer term.

Minimammoth · 11/01/2015 19:24

No he's just a good actor.

florencedombey · 11/01/2015 19:24

But he must at least have doubts: if he knew for certain he'd not slept with Jess, he'd have done the DNA test before now.

Shallishanti · 11/01/2015 19:25

but haven't we established that they were together at the right time? and Jess is not stupid so she wouldn't pursue this knowing a DNA test would show him not to be the father.

florencedombey · 11/01/2015 19:25

So he must have slept with her at least once since he started seeing Helen.

Travelledtheworld · 11/01/2015 19:25

It is his baby.
When he first moved to Ambridge didn't he go home to Hampshire occasionally ?
How long ago was that ?
Though I know time is different in TA.

florencedombey · 11/01/2015 19:26

Aargh. Too many posts. Shalli, I'm agreeing with you, although it might not look like it!
