Sack the Sock - put a sock in it or pull your socks up - frankly we're a bit sick of it. The Archers is shit, discuss it here.

I have it on good authority that this is the thread that people enjoy more than the programme it's about Grin

Either Pat or Tom is going to get Johnnie to say what's wrong. With luck, they'll ask questions about that innocuous little order and a few things will unravel.

1/ the veg. I seem to remember Rob being up at least once congratulating J on working in polytunnel/ sorting veg so he either changed the note or added more boxes.

2/ not sure Rob ever explicitly said "that baby is not mine". Helen just assumed. And he never corrected her. Afair he may also have said "it is nothing to do with me" i reckon he is going to play the she said she was on the pill and refused an abortion / she stole my sperm defence. I said I didn't want it so I am not paying.

I think Hellin will believe Jess is an evil seducing harlot and even more dafty they will then have 'a baby of their own' to keep him and be one up on Jess.

ChristmasPartyFRocknRollNerd · 10/01/2015 12:58

Frances Barbour would play whatserface on the BL board who stitched up Brian over the sale, I can't for the life of me remember her name, she's not Anthea but it's something like that isn't it?

ZeroFunDame · 10/01/2015 13:05

"The Archers @BBCTheArchers
#EEBAFTAs nominee Felicity Jones was on @BBCr4today discussing #thearchers The Movie: t.co/HFTZGdxHN4. But who should play whom?"

Have only just noticed this, from yesterday morning. And there I was thinking the film was just an enjoyable fantasy ...

ElephantsAndMiasmas · 10/01/2015 13:29

Having listened - bollocks to Johnny being dyslexic or just dim enough to hear 3 and put 8! Rob Angry

PetulaGordino · 10/01/2015 13:38

I think Johnny having dyslexia or dyscalcula is almost certainly the case, but what that means is that he has so much self-doubt and lack of confidence (plus raw at failing his exams) that rob can easily get him to take the blame. It's more of rob playing on the insecurities of those around him

BringYourOwnSnowman · 10/01/2015 13:39

Are we sure it wasn't Tina who over ordered and then denied it and changed the record?

It seems a bit ott Machiavellian for rob to have changed it and would be better if it wa Tina's mistake showing that she shouldn't hae been hired in the first place

Love the fact rob blamed Kirsty! He's a git

PetulaGordino · 10/01/2015 13:43

I'm still not sure tbh, but in a way that's the point I think. The lack of clarity means rob can exploit to his advantage and he knows it

PseudoBadger · 10/01/2015 13:52

BYOS me finally appreciating the SL was just my BOOP point - agree that it's been poorly executed.

How about James Nesbitt as Ian?

We have some knitters here I think? Radio 4 have just put a call on their facebook page for pics of radio 4 related knitting

ppeatfruit · 10/01/2015 15:34

Great Scot you lot are on speed or something Grin.

None of my 3 yr old dcs would disappear on their own to 'get their pyjamas on' ,and I wouldn't expect them to either, Henry is turning into a typical soap child who lives in a sound proof cupboard Grin.

BringYourOwnSnowman · 10/01/2015 15:46

My ds would have but no way with dd!!

Henry is clearly an angelic child who occasionally hits. And is also the master of evil at night when everyone else is asleep. And during that scene he was actually tricycling up and down outside the living room door.

Lilymaid · 10/01/2015 16:03

For the movie:
Gwyneth Paltrow to play Kate (just needs to be herself).

Halsall · 10/01/2015 16:13

I'm going with the theory that Rob altered the 3 to an 8. Remember how furious he was when Johnny insisted on doing something around the farm (can't recall what now) the way Tony would have wanted it done, a day or 2 after The Accident? And Johnny stood his ground despite Rob's attempt to browbeat him. After which Rob, clearly not liking that at all, made a sneering comment to Oliver Sterling about Johnny being dim and needing to have things spelt out for him.

I'm quite sure Rob has a mental black book of people he considers to have crossed him, and will be subtle about taking revenge. He strikes me as someone who has to win in every situation.

BOOP-point: I wasn't keen on Johnny at first but I think he's becoming a good thing Smile

GypsyFloss · 10/01/2015 16:20

Are we having a film or a musical?

minkGrundy · 10/01/2015 16:29

Musical film a la mama mia.

I think Rob was involved. He had Johnny in his sights as J is getting his feet too far under the table for Rob's liking.
Not sure if Tina is just surly or in cahoots or receiving conflicting instructions. She is no good though and will have to go!

ZeroFunDame · 10/01/2015 16:31

Gypsy If you were listening to Radio 3 right now you'd know we don't have to choose!

(I'm only listening because too lazy to change stations. But it's very apposite.)

GypsyFloss · 10/01/2015 18:27

Enlighten me Zero? . I'm pinned to the sofa by the pointer and the cockerpoo fighting for world sofa domination and can't get to the radio.

ZeroFunDame · 10/01/2015 18:45

It was:

Film Musicals - The Last 50 Years
Sound of Cinema
The Sound of Music with Julie Andrews is 50 years old - in the week of the release of Sondheim's screen version of Into The Woods, Matthew Sweet looks back on the last half century of the screen musical.

(Would link to iPlayer if I could.)

Not my most favourite sort of music - but funny in light of this thread.

trevortrevorslattery · 10/01/2015 18:55

Please can jim be played by bill nighy?

GypsyFloss · 10/01/2015 19:25

Aha thanks Zero . I'll have a look on iplayer for a catch up on that.

BitOutOfPractice · 10/01/2015 19:38

I've just listened to last night's and I love the way it finished with Helen saying "But it's not yours Rob!"

The continuity annoucer said "Is that the suond of a penny dropping?"

Bluestocking · 10/01/2015 21:45

Going back a bit - can anyone remember the poem that Jim quoted to Jill about the bird singing in the depths of winter because he knows despite all evidence to the contrary that spring is on its way?

DadDadDad · 11/01/2015 09:12

ChristmasPartyFrock - ooh, ooh, please, Miss, I think I know this one! Wasn't it Annabel on the BL board?
