Scary and disturbing. What do people think?

Really disturbing, I feel like my heart is in my stomach listening to it. Terrified Dexter will die, poor thing, I wish the lady next door would take him to the GP on the sly. Was worried Skye would be abused by the guy next door who I can't work out if he's helping her or grooming her in a way. Can't believe Skye has left Dexter on his own with the Mum, not sure I can cope with tomorrow's final episode if something happened to him

Glad I'm not the only one! I agree it did look like he was grooming her and then in the next episode he was back to being ok again... How old is Dexter do you think? I can't believe she left him.
Also surely children's cough medicine doesn't contain alcohol.....?

Too heartbreaking to listen to more than the bits I caught by accident. Dexter was, I think 2? I thought Skye was a boy for some reason!

Skye was a boy??! Really? I missed the final one... Will see if it's on iplayer.

No Skye was definitely a girl, she was 11 and her brother 2. Glad Dexter was ok, I was dreading the final episode. I was a bit surprised the mother would even notice his breathing or have checked on him.

It was very thought provoking, stepping into their world and the basic things we take for granted. Sad that there are probably thousands and thousands of neglected children just like that out there, some having to grow up too soon and look after their brothers and sisters. How would they get medicine, new clothes when they grow, or even wash their clothes when you need washing powder and gas for hot water.

You are right and it's a good thing to raise people's awareness. Young people can hid things really well and take so much on their shoulders. I'm a teacher & once did a home visit to find complete squalor - dog mess in children's beds, no running water, rats in the kitchen etc. Mum had had a big drugs relapse; it was awful. Thing was one of the children had been in my classroom everyday
and I wouldn't have known. she had hidden it so well - she told me later she used to keep her school uniform at a friends house so it didn't get dirty and shoplift from tesco to get dinner. Awful stuff.
