HELP!!!! Lol!

I have looked at the Maclaren XT in Mothercare and compared the handle height to the Quest as the Quest is what I would usually go for. Also, debated the Zodiac Quest as uts a good price on Boots. Also found the Quinny Zapp black and white which I look the look of (but no recline). Anything else people could suggest. Would love a Bee Plus as I have mentioned before but would have to sell my big pram to fund it and don't think I can do that!

I say the lightweight is for short trips only so even though I don;t think I need a recline there may be times even on those short trips when we may need a nap. It also could possibly be used for longer trips out if we have the car packed up to the brim!!!

Oh dilemmas, didn't think the decision would be this difficult!

I had exactly the same dilemna, except when she was more than 12 months. Didn't want to waste money as most of the time she wouldn't get in as she preferred to walk (I often looked like I was abducting her). Bought a Maclaren triumph and took it back.

I would say don't write off selling the big pram to get a bugaboo bee - they are fab and work as the big / main pushchair as well as being lghtweight and easy to fold. My dilemna is whether to get one for number 2 or just to stick with what we've got. But if I do that, I'll just have the "should I get a maclaren" problem later, and the longer you leave it, the less value for money it is. Such decisions....

I would say if you do get a maclaren, get a quest not a triumph - for older babies / toddlers, the triumph doesn't sit upright enough (opposite problem of when they are tiny, when you need it to recline flat).

Petite Star Zia

Its like the quinny zapp, but it reclines and has a shopping basket!!!

I really like the Bee. I had the older version when it first came out for my daughter.

However, (I know it sounds silly) but just can't bring myself to sell the big pram. I say it is because I walk everywhere, which I do, but I don't walk HUGE distances. We get the bus into town. We do the school run every morning, lunchtime and after school but it is about 20 minutes there and back at the most. We rarely have long days out where he is in it for most of the day, but he does still have naps in it!

Not keen on the look of the Baby Jogger, I know it is VERY popular though.

I have seen the Zia but not had a good look into it so will do now!

Have you looked at the Micralite superlite - That was my 2nd choice if I hadn't been able to afford the bee plus (by selling a lot of stuff on ebay!).

The plus points are - it is very very light - and suitable for public transport - and the hammock seat is very comfortable for your child - and it looks funky and it is super easy to push - even with a very heavy and large child in it. The superlite has a better recline than the fastfold.

I am not keen on the zia, a friend had one and found it flimsy - front wheel broke after only a few weeks too.

I would prefer the micralite superlite to a maclaren based on seat comfort for child, the excellent manouverability it gives thanks to the weight being mainly over rear wheels and the big air tyres. I just think it's better made and offers more versatility than a maclaren.

I do understand you wanting to keep the larger pram you have too (if it's the one I think I remember you said you had!) as it looks fab!

XboxWidow30 · 05/07/2010 13:33

Lol, yes it is the one you are thinking of multimummy! My fave pram ever, but at the same time its annoying that, although it fits in the car for going out it is a pain aswell! LOL!

I bought the MicralITe Superlite and sent it back. I didn't like the look of it and the recline wasn't quite enough on the seat unit.

Oh, I am such a fuss pot!

zia's are terrible pushchairs - don't do it!! The city mini is great - my fave baby jogger was the elite - but huge pushchair! I love macs though - fabby strollers - just not the triumph!

M&P Aria

Multimummy · 05/07/2010 13:47

Oh dear at micralite not being suitable...

I looked up that other one you had - I was quite impressed after seeing the video's online of everything it can do....If the footpaths in my neighbourhood were better - I might have been tempted to aquire one...Think a cameleon or (2nd hand) gecko might be more my thing though (addicted to off-road possibility.

How about the zapp - and one of those neck pillow supports incase your child has a nap in there? I definately think the zapp is much better made than the zia - and the zapp takes about 20kg or more of weight (maybe it's 23kg? trying to remember)... but not only can it "take" that weight - it can handle it with ease! (My 2nd daughter used to ride in ours at 25kg - think she's going to be an olympic shot-putter when she grows up LOL - not so much fat - just very big and solid).

a Zapp would be fab for a holiday as it folds up so teeny tiny.

We took ours up the dales and it dealt with uneven pavements and cobbles okay - not so great off road - but not really bad - okay on mown grass etc. Have you tried pushing a zapp? They must have ball bearing wheels or something as they're very smooth to push.
I also loved the zapp harness - wish all buggies / prams came with such lovely quality harnesses. Makes such a difference to childs posture/comfort.

Baby Jogger City Mini - just bought one for my soon-to-be-born bub as you can make them into a travel system as well. Only 7 kilos, super easy to fold and they have nearly a full recline too. A friend of mine bought one instead of a McClaren as a holiday pushchair and now uses it exclusively (wishes she'd got one from the start instead of fragging her cash on a Bugaboo. Was recommendation enough for me...

LolaKnickers · 06/07/2010 14:55

Does the babyjogger face inwards (i.e towards the parent)? My big puschair didn't once it was out of pram mode and that was the main reason for getting a second.

Multimummy · 06/07/2010 15:57

No - the babyjogger city mini is not parent facing.
