Bee plus or cameleon?

I am looking to purchase one of these but I'm unsure as to which one would be best.

It's for my DD who is 15 months but we are TTC DC3 so would be used for that baby too. Would be used daily for school run and trips into town. Also needs to work well with a buggy board.

I looked at the MiWheels too but wasn't sure if they were cheap for a reason.

Thanks in advance.

miwheels are the same as the cam. literally identical and apparently made in the same factory. You can put bugaboo fabrics on a miwheels, and make it look like a cameleon, for about half the price.
If you are doing a lot of walking, I would say the cameleon every time, its superb to push, its a bit bigger than the bee when folded, but just as easy to steer round tight spaces as the wheel base is pretty much identical. It also has the carrycot option.

Thank you both, I think I will get the MiWheels and then some Cam fabrics.

Would be walking quite a bit with doing school run and then nursery run too next year. Plus I will get the MiWheels carrycot included so can use that for DC3.

NOOOOOOO! Don't get a MiWheels...They ARE cheap for a reason - because they are cheap! They're NOT made in the same factory as bugaboo pushchairs. They do have slight differences to the cameleon and people will be able to tell you're pushing a FAKE about. Then you have to think of the resale price you'd get - a second hand bugaboo cameleon costs the same as a brand new miwheels, so if I was you, either buy second hand if you don't like the price tag, or get a new cameleon and then resell it down the line. If you do a lot of walking then the cameleon would be better, but if you drive lots, or have a small house, then the bee would be better.
Sorry to sound so blunt, but alarm bells should ring if something seems too good to be true. These Miwheels are just a cheap copy of bugaboos and I'm just trying to stop you making a HUGE mistake! Bugaboos will last, a miwheels wouldn't, especially if you do loads of walking. x

Ah thank you for that, I was wondering about them.

I definitely won't be buying one then! Might look out for a second hand Cam.

Thanks again

I found a review on the eBay site that suggested the miwheels were a "fake" (although it that were the case - I'm not sure how it is they're still selling them!). I too was very tempted. I got a bee+ in the end because it sort of met our needs better in that it can be folded and carried in one piece (even with seat facing parent) so easy for public transport. It also takes up little room.
Keep an eye out for discounts at Mothercare (they seem to offer 10% off all pushchairs once in a while as a promotional thing) and then do a web search (or check the voucher/discount code board here) to see if you can get a code for another 10% off - Got my Bee+ from Mothercare for only £371 including the hood this way!

hi just thought i would say the new board only fits the bee in the facing the world position..something to bare in mind i have the cam and love it and alway have mine facing me so we can chat.

i wouldnt want my newborn facing away from me in order to use the board

horsemadgal · 24/06/2010 11:48

Agree re MiWheels, I have heard of 2 broken chassis so far.

I love the Cam while my baby was in carrycot mode. Started using Bee from 3 months and then Cam was more or less made redundant.

I thought you could use the new board on Bee while baby faces mum. I'm sure someone posted a pic somewhere, I'll have a scout about.

steph1512 · 24/06/2010 13:04

i ordered new board 3mth ago and the manual says it can only be used while the bee faces out..iwas quite shocked

Multimummy · 24/06/2010 13:50

Does that mean the board can only be used with bee facing out AND seat in upright position then?
Doesn't make sense otherwise?!

Here's a web pic of it attached in parent facing mode - looks like it would work much better that way!
board pictured on seat parent facing
I wonder if there's an error in the manual - or if it's a safety thing where they think a toddler might tip forwards and squash the baby or something?!

Multimummy · 24/06/2010 13:57

Infact this bugaboo own video shows the board being used with the buggy in facing and facing away mode with the board.
here
Must be a manual error or something - it's clearly been designed to work both ways!

steph1512 · 24/06/2010 15:59

Thats good then i thought it was a bit naff otherwise..considering it had been re designed to fit bee
