Maclaren doubles

Hi I have two dcs who are 2 and 3 in September and expecting dc3 in about 6 wks.

At the moment we use a stroller for dd2 whilst dd1 scoots or walks.

I need to go back to a double buggy though as dd2 not ready to use a buggy board or walk in a straight line

We have a 2nd hand P&T but it keeps getting punctures and is pretty knackered. I also didn't much like it until the kids were a bit older and could use as two seats.

So- considering buying a side by side Maclaren.

Can't really justify the Twin Techno's price as this'll be our 5th buggy so far

Have seen another called Maclaren Twin Triumph which is only £140 and is apparently suitable from birth.

The only difference I can see is that the cheaper one has no head hugger or cosy toes but we have those from the variety of other buggies we've had so one should fit on.

Does anyone know the difference between the two and does anyone have the Twin Triumph and want to give me the lowdown?

TIA

I think there is (or was) a comparison site on maclaren site. I don't know About twins but know on the singles the difference is on headhugger/ padding and how far it reclines mainly between the from birth and not from birth.

If I had to have a twin would go maclaren.

I don't know the difference but I bought a 2nd hand twin techno on ebay for £100 and it was only a couple of months old, really hardly any wear at all.

I suspect the techno is more comfortable than the triumph.

i wouldn't personally put a newborn in a twin triumph..does it go flat as i know the single version doesn't? theres not leg rest and v.little padding. no suspension on wheels.

I wouldn't think be that great to push i had one when my boys were 2.5yr and 1yr and it was a bugger almost stopped me going out! i would want something with air tyres personally.

I have had a single triumph and a single techno xt, I almost cracked open the champagne when the triumph broke and I could get a refund. It was a rough ride for a 3 month old with very small wheels. The techno is the best buggy I have ever had but as my toddler weighs 15kg and the next isn't due until Oct I have had to buy something more substantial.

Maybe I'll repair the p&t (again) then..

Surely if they market it from birth it must lie flat??

Hopefully we'll be innundated with money & vouchers when dc3 is born and we can buy a techno

We had this Maclaran Triumph Twin in the same red colour as shown here, and it was definately worth the money.

Out of all the twin buggies we tried at the time it was definately the easiest to open and close with one hand.

The other good thing was the resale value when we out grew it. I managed to get 40 pounds for it on ebay, which I thought was great considering we'd definately had our use out of it.

Thanks sandra that's the one I had been looking at. What age dcs did you use it for?
