I have a Stokke Xplory at the moment. I have the urge to buy something else (thats riht 2 prams at once !!!)

In the past week I have looked at Maclaren XT but think the handle height will be too high for me.

MB Urban and Swift.

Bugaboo Bee, although a bit too much cash really I think.

So what else shall I look at? Or would an MB be sufficient. Definately different to the Xplory!

go with the bee. They are so worth it.

Multimummy · 17/06/2010 14:50

Try a bugaboo bee plus - we love ours the really are "different" enough to deserve the extra payment if you can afford it. Look at the discounts boards to see if you can get a discount.
They are so light and "bouncy" to push - almost feels as if you are pushing a little boat in a stream! LOL
I've had mine a coupld of weeks now and am still thrilled with it - like it more each time I use it - so darned practical and light. I love having my child facing me.
You should be able to get at least 10% off at mothercare with a code.
Oh and after you get the bee - get a "bagabottle" pouch (off ebay new) - to put all your stuff in - they're the perfect accessory!

Britax 3 wheel?

Multimummy · 17/06/2010 19:53

Other suggestions - the M&P Sola - looks quite cool - and on the mamas and papas website there was a half price skoot - which looked funky too!
Apparently the best Mountain buggys to have are pre 2010 - as they've now been taken over by phil and teds and some mums are preferring the quality / design of the 09 and before mountain buggys!

XboxWidow30 · 17/06/2010 19:54

I was still hoping for something that can be rearward or forward facing which is one good point about the Bee Plus.

I do like the MB's although not exactly small!

Oooh I don't know. I have got a 10% code for Mothercare!

Britax b smart is rear facing
here

XboxWidow30 · 17/06/2010 20:17

Multimummy, thanks. I have seen some chat about the pre 2010 MB'S. I was looking at earlier models on pramworld as they had money off.

Will go and have a look at the Sola, not keen on the Skoot.

What do people think of the new Phil and Teds Smart buggy. Looks and specification wise???

OP posts:
Multimummy · 17/06/2010 21:10

I haven't even looked at the phil and teds smart buggy - but I've been thorougly put off phil and teds with my experience of a tandem I had by them - seemed very cheap and overpriced - multiple flaws. Wheel never fitted right - had to be replaced. harness buckles were easily unthreaded by toddler (choking hazard!) - the cap above the front swivel wheel was pulled off by toddler (another choking hazard) - the mesh seat panels wore down to the "string" really fast..toddler could ram feet down in fabric footwell and stop pram randomly by applying pressure to front wheel!...I could go on....

I think the m&p sola is also able to be reward facing.

Multimummy · 17/06/2010 21:12

What about the icandy cherry..... they look nice!

MrsWillis · 17/06/2010 22:57

I have the Sola and I love it. I am lusting after the Bee Plus though but can't bring myself to sell the Sola!

weddingseason · 18/06/2010 08:30

Don't do it Mrs Willis because if you rave about another pushchair then I'm bound to want one too!

Another vote for the Sola here.

MrsWillis · 18/06/2010 09:46

Lol Weddingseason!!

No I'm still loving the Sola, I stopped using it for a while to get some use out of my Maclaren and loved it even more when I started using it again.

babydrip · 18/06/2010 16:19

black herbie on m&p for £147.50 def worth a look.

XboxWidow30 · 18/06/2010 19:25

Good price, but I had a 8 in 1 Ultima then downsized to a Skate but that wasn't really a downsize, it was still huge when folded!

I need nippy and small folding, preferably rear facing but as it will be minimal use I am not fussed. If I know we will be out all day I will still take the Xplory in the car. Its literally a chuck in the car for short trips buggy I need.

If that makes sense??!!!!

nicolamumof3 · 18/06/2010 19:32

you should buy one of my maclarens then

bee really only light rear facer i reckon.

XboxWidow30 · 18/06/2010 19:37

I know, the Bee looks fab but out of my price range what with a Stokke in the house already!

I was trying to steer away from a Maclaren but know I will probably end up with one, lol!

OP posts:
5inthebackofthenet · 18/06/2010 19:43

I would have said a BJCM, but the handle height is quite high, probably about the same as the Mac XT.

XboxWidow30 · 18/06/2010 19:57

Oooh I need short handles, lol!!! Or adjustable ones.

OP posts:
Multimummy · 19/06/2010 13:22

Mothercare have some prams half price - thought I saw a loola on there. Not my cup of tea - but is rear facer, folds small and around £150 is a fair price I think.
Downside of it is it doesn't reverse well (or pull backwards up steps well).

windywalker · 19/06/2010 18:24

iCandy cherry is a real cutey, nice and light, doddle to fold, stroller is £300.
