Bugaboo bee - good changing bag?

I'd like one that will attach quite closely to the bar so that it doesn't whack dc in the legs and will fit in basket when buggy board is on. Would prefer to avoid bugaboo one.

Babymel pram bags are lovely and attach easily. Looks like a normal handbag as well. really pretty.

Thanks both. My skiphop slides down the handlebar and won't stay at the top. Will check out babymel!

It might just be me but I can't get it to work! Those pods are v cool but I think one change one would not work for my 2 yr old/newborn. I travel light too!

Just can't stand being miss bugaboo to that extent!

The babymel looks lovely tho. I have one of the littleskip hop changing mat only ones(like the pod). It's great when out only with baby for short trips but need something bigger. Think I will try babymel and send it back if it won't attach.

Why get a huge bag to go over the handles? It doesnt look great on a bee (or any pram come to mention it)

I've either used a mini bag that has slipped into my handbag (one of those folding matts with space for 1 nappy, mini wipes etc) or I've now got a medium monkey's foot bag that goes in the basket

PS small bags are fine. I use them and I use cloth nappies.

GiraffeYoga · 06/06/2010 21:30

or look at Snunkie- think Lucy does fab changing bags in custom fabrics that can attach to handles.

I got a custom foot muff from there (the bugaboo ones are nearly £100) for about £50. Its fab!!

I cant recommend Snunkie enough.

Aitch · 06/06/2010 21:36

i use an oi oi with my bee and it works fine. in fact, it works BRILLIANTLY with the buggy board, i found, because you can let the older child sit on the bag, kinda like a hammock(looped over handlebars) with their feet on the board when they start moaning about standing up.

roary · 06/06/2010 22:30

Good tips! giraffe would rather have my pushchair carry the weight than me! Esp as I have the baby in the sling at the moment and I need the basket for shopping etc. I find my little bag is fine for just the baby but with both i need somewhere to hold snacks/drinks/animals. Aitch, am loving the hammock effect!

well that bag would be good if you need more space, it's fookin' enormous. mine cost about fifty five quid, as i recall, must've gone up in price with the exchange rate.

roary · 06/06/2010 22:43

Snunkie amazing! What a great range. We don't have a footmuff and will def get one of theirs rather than the bugaboo one.

also another tip for the bee backward facing is that the basket is great, great, great for food shopping, but if you are doing a mega clothes shop in town it's hard to keep lots of bags in. (iykwim?)

however, if you keep a bungee in the basket (you know, one of those elastics with hooks on the end that motorcyclists use, you'll get six in tesco for a couple of quid) then on those rare occasions that you buy too much stuff you can tether GAZILLIONS of big shopping bags into the space by hooking to the hood and the back of the basket.

Aitch · 06/06/2010 22:47

i use a buggy snuggle, they also work.

GiraffeYoga · 06/06/2010 22:49

Great tip on the bungee Aitch.

I love my Bee!

What colour have you got?

Aitch · 06/06/2010 22:52

khaki. i am pissed off tho as only got it last year and now the new one is much bigger. dd will have to stay in this one til she explodes out of it.

GiraffeYoga · 06/06/2010 22:56

Oh no- really? Are the straps also longer on the new one?

I got mine feb 09 and it does seem small but I love it.

Also Kharki!

We got a second hand M&P aria for holiday- very light but not a touch on my Bee!

Aitch · 06/06/2010 22:58

yes, i think so. the straps are ridiculous, aren't they? what child wants to be yoinked back like that? dd just unhooks herself immediately.

roary · 06/06/2010 23:12

also ridiculously in love with bee. We have cameleon but bee is brilliant and if I had it to do over would just get bee.

I didn't realize new model was bigger but mine is a mumsnet bargain so can't complain. Aitch can you explain the bungie trick? I can't visualize it for some reason. Do you mean using it as a strap and tucking shopping behind? < pimp my bugaboo emoticon>

OP posts:
Aitch · 06/06/2010 23:19

yep, so shopping in gap between seat and basket (assuming basket already full of small bags), hook at bottom on as yet unused foot bar, plonk bags in and then hook to hood. i do it with two bungees, one at each corner.

horsemadgal · 06/06/2010 23:31

Fab tip Aitch, think I have some of those bungee thingies in garage!

I use a Jane bag on mine which is fab as has the poppers to attach nicely to handle. So not matching though!

The Bugaboo rucksack also fits fab and is quite near the handle.
