If you get an umbrella fold type, you can flip the bar up at the bottom, which starts to fold it, and this gives you an extra couple of cm to get through a doorway.
It won't fold in completely because of the lock, so can be done with children in it, this is how I get my Maclaren through my front door.
Doesn't take a carrycot though.

I lived in a house with a narrow door, and steps up to the gate when I had my second child. It's four years ago but the only option then was the Phil and Ted's. I measured several times to see if I could get the mountain buggy double through!

I mostly slung the baby but I was delighted to see that when he was in the bottom bit he could see me well through the gap.

I used to make the toddler get out for bad steps or long flights. He was 2.5 when his little brother was born.

So it can work if you can't get your dad to build a shelter.

although dd4 is 19months, she has joint problems, and despite taking er first steps in feb. she only started walking realy at the beginning of may, and still only takes a few steps, and nowhere near walking any distance yet.

Yeah the carrycot is pretty decent, clips on & off v easily. I used to bring ours upstairs for ds2 to nap in a lot.
Hope to hear your news soon misdee!
