best pushchair for 3 years old

Hi, We have Stokke Xplory but DS is now growing out of it. We are looking for something roomy for a 3 years old who looks like 4 and sturdy enough to carry him when he wants to run but has to stay in the pushchair. I'd appreciate any advice.

My 3.2 year old still uses a pushchair and I also can't be arsed explaining why. I have a Mamma's & Papa's TRek and he still fits in it.

omg.i was just searching on the net for auitable pushchairs for a three year old and come accross this my little one is nearly 3 and still naps in her pushchair sometimes we take it sometimes we dont who the hec do you lot think u are judging anotha mother on wetha her lo needs a pushchair  or not nowt to do wi u shes askin suitable pushchairs so if ya know of one say it if. yadontjog on a baby micro city micro is perfect by the way.

wow well i have just been looking for a pram for my 2 year old who is 3 in october to see some horrible comments that pissed me off so much i had to sign up thought this was called mumsnet half of u act like kids get a life !!!!!!!! some people who go shopping round town and dont drive who have small children need a pram we dont all live in flowery field either were r kids run round with no shoes look at poor jamie bulger his mum only took her eyes off him for a split second !!! u horrible women some people need to keep there mouths shut or get some happiness in there sad lives if some one said that to my face id give them a slap!!

Very judgemental - people's circumstances vary. I am a granny looking after large 2 year old and having to walk energetic dog for a good hour each day. Can't imagine grandson will be able to walk briskly for an hour when he's 3.

Omg I just done a search on if a maclaren techno xlr would be any yes for my 31 month old son, came across this and can I just say, there are so e very catty mothers out there, who really cares if your children were walking everywhere at 2, you were not asked this, my son walks everywhere, but seeing as we have a 20 minute walk up hill to school at 8.30 every morning, I feel he needs something, he happily walks everywhere else but that walk exhausts him, also do you make your 2 yr old walk in pouring rain/snow etc, if so shame on you, there's no way my child would be made to do that, so yep, I am going to get my son a buggy, really don't care what others think

We're using a Graco - but they're big things. Still plenty of room for a child - occasionally with it in the flat position we get DD1 (4.5) in too for a bit. So loads of room plus a huge basket. Essential for a long day at the zoo - for carrying the picnic if nothing else.

DD1 has just about finished wanting to be in a buggy. I've had all of the comments but quite frankly don't give a stuff. Often she's walked a couple of miles to and from the leisure centre, active play for a couple of hours and I'm giving her a chance to rest before her karate class. Yes she does have legs that work. They work a lot. So do DD2's as we tend to walk everywhere. Of course I could just use the giant fossil-fuel burning 4 person buggy on a daily basis and fail to have the lack of leg usage commented upon.

Hi I don't think there is anything wrong with having a 3 year old in a pushchair! My boy is 3 and a half and I use my pushchair a lot! We live near busy roads and walk a lot! I would never expect him to walk all the way to nursery it takes over half an hour the people who say they don't use them very often must drive there children everywhere! I'm also looking for a good pushchair as mine is far to bulky now could you let me know if you found a good one :) thanks

My child is 20 months he uses the Cosatto Yo which is amazing. I only use it if I go asda or to shopping centres or on the bus somewhere. Tbh I find mothers who push around 3+ kids are lazy.. Call me judgemental I understand everyone's situation is different but everyone Has legs just like everyone has a mouth. My child knows how to say 1-5 at 20 months old because I constantly taught him. Some kids are slow I get that BUT. If you stuff a dummy in your babies mouth all day and night their speech will be slow. Even if you teach them a lot, So therefore if you stuff your child in a pushchair all day long your child won't know how to walk or behave whilst walking. It's laziness and yes some mothers are lazy some are not. That's just a preference. Doesn't cause the child any harm so therefore it's none of our business BUT. I can't stand lazy moms. Lol! It's just annoying to see. Just like it's annoying to see a mom smoking around her child u just wanna shake her and say "your child is breathing that!" So I guess we feel the same when we look at big ass kids in buggys like wth somebody here said their kid is 8 in a buggy? That's appalling. 3 has to be the max for me. Unless ur going far yeah take the pram. But to the park or etc walk your child for gods sake you wouldn't put your dog in a pram would you lol
Nonetheless nobody is perfect it's not illegal but this debate is shocking and interesting at once!

Just for the record caprice my dd 2.2 has a dummy and sometimes in day and her speech is that of a 4 year old so take issue with the dummy stopping development it's crap it's down to each individual child

Totally agree with you, I have a 3 year old that looks like a 4, he doesn't use a buggy anymore infact he loves walking however when we walk long distances he wants me to carry him and even thought I encourage him to walk and never carries him is a risk I am not willing to take when going on holidays. Better safe than sorry

We encourage my 4 year old to walk but if out all day on a day trip we know they'll be problems with tired little legs, so yes, we take a buggy. Maclaren fits him nicely. So throw me to the lions ladees ??

Not all kids are the same. Those of you that are making judgment on someone for wanting a buggy for their child. Shame on you. My daughter is now 4 and we have just been on holiday, we would of been stuck without it. Some kids still need a sleep during the day. She walks everywhere but when necessary we take her buggy for her to rest. Saves fighting with a tired child while out, and helps when carrying lots of shopping. Not everybody drives. Some of us rely on public transport. There is nothing wrong with a 3-5 yr old using a buggy on occasion.

Thank you so much for someone askin this question. Mine son is nearly three and half and has talipes and slight hyper mobility but the macclarens was too small cause he's 3 ft. Thank you to the ones with a positive answers. The others. It's not your child you never gave birth too these people children so no reason too be so judgemental

My son has flatly refused to go in his buggy since he was 18 months old.
Have you considered a trunki suitcase for the holiday? They can ride on it?

You would not put a slow walking, unfit adult in a wheelchair for convenience, so why a 3 year old child? Of course there might be exceptions in the case of really tough journeys, but what will be the effect on the confidence and fitness of the child?

My son is 3. He has a club foot and has slight hyper mobility I was recommended the mountain terrin as my son is nearly 3 ft xx
