Mutsy 4Rider Light Question - any owners around?

I was really hoping this buggy would cover all bases for me - I do LOVE it - but how on earth can I use it on the bus?
It shows on the Mutsy website - the pram folding - with the seat on (facing away) and then being stood upright - so I thought - although big - I would be able to manage (I only use the bus occasionally).
However - it seems it does not fold so far down that the chassis lock will engage with the seat on I can stand it upright - but the buggy partially unfolds again.

Is there anyway round this dilemma? (do you tie it closed or get a velcro strap made to keep it closed.

So annoying as it almost gets to chassis locking point but not quite (due to the large lump of plastic on the rear of the seat rest button!). I'm most tempted to file said bit of plastic away to see if it will lock closed!

Also - does anyone know if I can buy mutsy 4rider single spoke wheels and attach them to the 4rider light chassis? (for the beach - as I'm worried our local pebble beaches will ruin the foam lightweight tyres on the light chassis).

Hoping there's some nice Mutsy owners around here who can guide me with hints and tips.

Do you have to fold it down to ride the bus near you? I pop mine on fully open with DD sitting inside it...fits inside the pushchair/wheelchair bay just as easily as a maclaren If you do fold it down with the seat facing away, it is in fact locked in place, however I don't know that you could stand it upright other than perhaps on its side - which shouldn't take up any additional space.

As to the tires, I've had the regular ones running on every type of surface, clocking an average of 3 miles/day, since Jan 2008, and they're still going strong! A bit worn mind you, but just fine...

It's a fab buggy!

Yes - there are a few buses where I might not have to fold it - but I would if a wheelchair passenger got on - so it's really got to be possible! Most of the buses are small and supposedly "buggy friendly" - with very little room for a buggy at all!
Then there's the trains.... will have to carry over railway bridge - gosh did not really think this through properly - it's not so much the weight - as the size when I think of carrying it over a bridge and holding 2y olds hand simultaneously....
May have to get something less luxurious for public transport days....

We've used ours for over a year now and I still LOVE it.
Though DH has cut of the horn-like supports (under the footreast), as these were really annoying when folding in RF mode - no consequences so far . Though this might not solve your problem...
We've used it on buses, trains and the tube, but never had to fold it really, as it fit through the doors and even between seats. I have a bad back, so have to avoid lifting it with DC in it - hence, where possible, I just choose train/tube stations that have escalators/lifts.

Thanks for advice elk4baby! Just had ours with the fun seat on for a long rainy walk. Ds was all in wet weather gear and wellies. No worries about the fun seat getting messy as he hopped on and off playing in the puddles and muddy park. Love it!
