How to clean Mountain Buggy covers?

I'm about to put our Urban Elite on Ebay and want to give it a good clean first. Ds has been sitting in the Kaiser for months and I hadn't realised just how much crap had accumulated under the liner The hood also needs a damn good clean, but doesn't seem to come off the frame. The Elite has the canvas fabric, so do you think it would be OK to go in the machine? Or should I stick to giving it a wipe with soapy water? Any advice appreciated

I have put my urban covers in the washing machine - i put them in a pillowcase first, on 30% & they were fine.

They had gone a bit mildewy & I had already tried to sponge them.

But usually a good scrub with a bit of washing soda or washing up liquid & then a rinse with the hose brings them up good too.

I am thinking about selling my MB too so am tracking a few others on ebay to get an idea about a price.

give the front hood rod a yank and it will come off the frame. if you make a slight hole on the inside of the hood, you can slide the enternal rod out. remove the metal seat frame and shove the lot in the machine at 30 degree fast wash.

Hi can I ask what a mountain buggy is like ? I might be looking for one on ebay but want to know what a mountain buggy is actually like. I live in a very hilly area, NT area and need to have something suitable for footpaths that are not made up and can get up hills and all types of surfaces. I have got a Britax 3 wheeler but found that the suspension on it isn't great for walking up small footpaths and mountains.

Pop I live in the suburbs so dont have much first hand experince of being "off road" but from what I know & the reviews I read before buying it, I think it is the most suitable for your needs.

My only reservation is that although the seat lies flat for a newborn, I would imagine they would have quite a bumpy ride "off road" so I would advise you buying a carrycot - Mine cost £20 on ebay as it was bright green, the black & navy seem to go for alot more. I then used it instead of a moses basket.

Also have a search in this forum because there seems to be quality issues with the newer China made MB.

MBs are fab off road, i have had singles and doubles and regularly go VERY off-road inc deep sand on the beach and very muddy bumpy hilly places, never had a problem. i have the orgional pre-phil and teds china factory versions, i wouldnt buy a new china made one as they are apparently bad quality. the old ones are fantastic quality, go anywhere and last forever. the seats do swing slightly when off road so rock babies to sleep i did use the carrycots and the seats for babies depending on if i had the room in the car to take the carrycot. the double carrycot for twins is massive
i wash my fabrics in a quick wash at 30deg the singlehoods fitted my machine with the sewn in rod in, i just took the metal one out and the metal seat frame.

Hi everyone. There seems to be cardboard in some parts of the fabric on the urban jungle. I’m scared to put them in the washing machine or even wash them too much. Has anyone else felt this in the fabric?
