Just wondered if anyone had one of these! I'm desperate for a new buggy for my 4 month old. I'm having to get rid of my petite star Zia as the handles are too low.....

Hi. I can sympathise as I also found that at 5'9" many pushchair handles were too low. I had a look at the babyjogger brochure and the handle height is only 107cm for the mini. Personally I would go for something higher still. I had a phil and Teds and at 110cm it still wasn't particularly comfortable to push.

It is really stressing me out now!!! I want to go for walks in this nice weather we're having but my back hurts so much with the Zia. I don't want to make that mistake again so been researching on the web and finding it very hard!!!!

It is a nightmare! must also put down a slight pram/pushchair obsession due to the need to change my first - just got to a point where I didn't want to go out for a walk - and nothing seemed quite right. Get as higher handle as possible. I have the Mutsy 4 Rider which extends to 114cm. It is a heavy pushchair to lift - about 15kg in total but you don't notice the weight to push it as the steering is incredibly light. Has a good sized seat unit for toddlers too. Not expensive to pick up second hand either, unfortunately as I am trying to sell mine with baby number 2 due soon! Have you looked at the other baby joggers? They have handles at 112 and 117cm and are adjustable. More money but seat units are more luxurious, more weight too though. Where abouts are you based?

Not trying to sell you my Mutsy by the way, but would recommend having a look at one if you can live with the weight!

What about the britax strollers? people seem to think these are pretty good and I think the handles extend to a decent height?

Bugaboo Cameleon - pricey but lightweight

Maclarens? Handles upto 111cm i think

Mountain buggy?

Suppose a lot depends on how light and how small you need it to fold.

Maclaren XT Techno goes up to 112 cm I think and it is the tallest I have seen.I use one and am 5' 9 and find it great.

The other Maclarens have shorter handles so beware!

Same problem as you! Hate these low down pushchairs that give you backache!

I think the City Mini has handles up to 110 but not the Micro - though could be wrong. Worth checking.

I've got a maclaren XLR, partly because when DD was little we did a lot of walking, and this was a really good height for me (5'9) and DH (5'11).

The Mutsy does break down into parts quite well the wheels are all quick release and the seat unit clips off. Quite long, that's the only thing. Would probably fit on its side if not laying down. Asked about your location as I found Winstanley's Pramworld at wigan really useful and worth a visit as they have loads of stuff you can try and they will take it out to your car to check it fits too. The staff are really helpful and there was no pressure to buy. Have a look at their website. I'm in the peak district but it was worth the drive!

I think if you have back pain then single-handled pushchairs are easier than the Maclaren style. I found with a Maclaren that there was only one position that it could be pushed in (ie with both hands on handles), whereas with a single-handled puschair I could do either hand from behind, either hand from the side (walking alongside the pushchair), two hands together or two hands spread wide. I haven't had any pain from my current Baby Jogger City Mini, but I'm not as tall as you are. I used to get dreadful shoulder and back pain when I had DS in a Maclaren.

The other good thing about the BJCM is that it's very stable so when DD is in the seat I can lean on the handle a bit without it tipping up.

thanks! i think i am going to go for a single handed thing as i have tendonitis in my wrist so i'm thinking it may be more comfortable. It may have to be the baby jogger then! they seem to to be out of stock everywhere though.........
