Pushchairs
Help! Confused/stuck...
legallyblond · 19/04/2010 16:11
I am so confused about puchchairs after receiving heaps of conflicting advice/stories about different brands.
I have a couple of quite specific requirements:
- MUST have option to be parent facing;
2. Must be suitable from birth and lie as flat as possible (have taken exec decision not to buy separate carry cot - expense and not sure how much it will be used as I plan to use a sling (Kari-me I think) as much as poss in the early days and it will be almost a winter baby (Sept));
3. Must last well - up to toddlerhood and, ideally, for DC2 (just a hope for now!);
4. Must be suitable for tall people! I am 5'11" and DH is 6'1"!
5. Must fit in boot of a VW Golf;
6. Lighter is better as I would like to take it on public transport; and
7. Compact is better - 2 bed flat! (But on the ground floor thankfully!)
Am so far thinking along the lines of Bugaboo Bee (but heard that toddlers grow out of it quickly?) or M&P Sola...
Any thoughts or suggestions?
Please...?!

good luck, it took me alsmost 16 weeks to decide! but i am really happy with the pram and still use it daily after 2 year rf.

Hey there,
Not going to be much help... I am as flummoxed as you are. However I do know that the new bugaboo bee-plus is better on the toddler front as has extendable back.
I have been very close to buying the bugaboo bee-plus, but am still struggling. Worried that as it doesn't have a carrycot, I will need to wake baby up every time I get home and need to carry buggie up the stairs...
I have exactly the same requirements as legally blond - light is key though!
Help us!!!!

Yes def get a Bee. Smallest, lightest and easiest to push rear facer I have tried.

Hmmm... Bee+ is looking like a contender. But I am still tempted by the M&P Sola, largely because of (1) the price and (2) the bumper bar thing (does it need that??).
But, does anyone know if the Sola will fit in the boot of a VW Golf without removing the wheels?
Also, I can't seem to get straight whether or not you have to remove the seat of the Sola to fold... I think you do?
And is Bugaboo really £200+ better than the M&P... Of course, it might be, for instance if the Bee+ will last me 2 DCs whereas the Sola is going to fall apart!
So confusing!

I have a Sola and I really like it. Not sure about it fitting in a Golf as I don't drive. It will fold with the seat on in forward facing but not rearward facing.
I think it would last longer than a Bee however I've not seen the Bee+ so I don't know about that one.
I tried DD in an old Bee when I was deciding and she had no room at all but she has plenty of space in the Sola. I can even fit DS is the Sola who is 2.9 and over 3ft.
It takes a buggyboard well and the hood is great.
