Anyone got a mutsy, esp a light rider and could tell me more about it? hubby is travelling to the states and they have great prices on them at the moment. was wondering how upright it goes, how easy to push/fold etc, can it be pushed one handed, can it fit a big toddler in. Wouldn't be using it for car, only walking.
Anyone?

Hi, i have just sold my musty rider, they push well (on and off road), the seat sits upright (i think) and lies flat, the seat is a good size so you can fit a largish child in. Mine was very heavy (not the light rider) and took up a lot of room in the boot of my car.

Hi, I have the light rider and I love it, have used it with my ds since birth, he is now 2.5 and is a large toddler and he still fits in it very comfortably, the seat is fully upright and I can still lie it flat if he wants to nap. I have always found it easy to fold but grandparents etc haven't, it just takes a bit of getting used to. It can be pushed one handed easily. I have also used it off road quite a bit and have had no problems. It is quite large when folded but not to heavy and the wheels can come off if you need them to. I used it with the carrycot from birth then the seat unit which can be parent facing. Overall I have been really pleased with mine. Hope this helps.

I have a Mutsy and love it.

Dd1 had and now its being used for dd2. 23mo dd still sits happily in the seat and you can get a fun seat for it.

I push it one handed all the time when it rains! I have a phil and teds as well and much prefer my mutsy.

Can you tell me how big the front wheels are and if it will fold up with the seat rear-facing?
Thanks!

mama2moo · 20/04/2010 19:10

The front wheels arent that big, smaller then my p and t's.

It wont fold rear facing which is a pain in the bum but thats the only bad point.

You can take all of the wheels off.

I have the 4 rider single spoke which is heavier. Really happy with it for walking but its bulky for the car. We have a big 4x4 and put it in the back without folding it because it doesnt make that much difference and saves the hassle. It pushes like a dream and is really strong and sturdy. I bump my son up big flights of stairs with complete confidence in this, but wouldnt dare in anything flimsier. Had a problem with the cargo fabric (i live in spain and it was quite plasticky and getting very hot and blistering in the sun) but they (eventually) changed it for the joey range and the fabric is MUCH better. Best thing about mutsy is the attachments. The table virtually turns it into a mobile high chair which has been fabulous.

astramummy Do you have any other attachments? I want the large basket and step up board but want to know if they are any good first.

We have the 4Rider Light and LOVE it! The seat is fantastic - fully adjustable (even the depth, which is rare) and very comfy for DS.
The front wheels are quite large (larger than on most 4-wheeled buggies), so they do well on any terrain (even snow and sand).
It fits just fine into our medium-size saloon, so no problems there.
It is heavier than some buggies, but for us it's completely justified by how sturdy it is. It's the 4x4 of buggies and has carried a LOT of different loads for us (besides DS ). You can hang a tonne on the handle and it still won't topple over and you won't even notice the extra weight when pushing - brilliant!
We even took it roller skating (we don't have a sports buggy), and it handled beautifully, no problems whatsoever!

one more thing, we've also use dthe Babysitter/rocker frame with the seat at home - didn't need to buy an extra 'baby' seat at all.
As for folding when rear-facing - it can be done, but it's bulkier than if you take the seat off - would work if you just need to get the height down to fit into a cupboard or something.
