Hi,

I was looking for some advice, when my new baby comes along in July I'll have a tallish DS of 2.5, who is not a great walker, also still has a long nap each afternoon, so I am considering a P&T's Dash.

My main concern is that DS may be too tall for it, I have already tried him in the sport with the pram in the newborn position and him in the toddler seat and couldn't use the hood as he was too tall, which from what I gather means I can't use the raincover? Also his head was hitting the metal bar on the doubles seat, this is the main reason I am considering the dash as the seat is more padded.

I know that these must be common issues with the P&Ts so I was hoping someone could tell me if there is anyway round this? Do you just not use the pram for the first 4-6 months when it rains? Or can you keep the baby dry and just dress the toddler in waterproofs?

I tried him in the vibe which I know has more head room but found this very difficult to push.

Any advice appreciated. Thanks.

I have a P&T Sport and a tall (just) 3 year old.

DS is to tall for me to have the hood over without him touching the top and also too tall to recline the doubles seat without his head hitting the top bar. Unfortunately, I only have a little car and the P&T Sport was the only double that would fit.

Luckily, it's not rained much while we've been out so far but my plan if that happens is to put DS in a raincoat. I've even bought him a little umbrella to use which he loves.

We've managed for 4 months so far and only have a little while to go before DD is riding in the doubles seat at the back rather than in the cocoon. We tried it out yesterday and DS seemed so little sat in the fixed seat. He'll certainly be OK back under the hood (and rain cover) for a while after they swap seats.

Hopefully, we'll have a lovely summer and you won't need a rain cover anyway

He's only fallen asleep in it once and the 5 point harness did a great job of holding him upright in the seat.

I have the dash and am using it in the toddler/newborn mode as DS is only 6 weeks, my DD is 2.5 and her head does touch the top of the hood but it is soft so I can still use it and she likes it over her in the wind. You can still use the raincover without the hood but it would be your sons head keeping it up!.

The dash is more padded around the top than my old sport so DD can still fall asleep in it even though her head rests on it.
