Hi there, off on a long trip with DD 2.5. we have a bugaboo for everyday, and she often has her hours nap in it during the afternoon. We are going to NZ to visit family and I need a new buggy to take with us. I don't really mind how much it costs (within reason) but want something really comfy, that reclines a decent amount, but that still folds up small enough to take on a plane. Add to the mix that she is quite tall for her age, and will want something brightly coloured and groovy.
Please give me the benefit of your wisdom!

I would recommend a BJCM (I always do!)

The seat is lovely and roomy and reclines really well. The hood is huge and would offer great sun protection. It is really easy to push with a heavier child on board.
It folds beautifully (one handed fold). It also has a carry bag for easy of transportation (available separately). I think other mumsnetters who have taken it on planes have removed the wheels for transit - but don't quote me on that you would need to search the other threads.

Sorry, don't understand what a BJCM is ....

I recently bought a Chicco London stroller to take to the UK with us. I think it's pretty good but too large to take on the plane as cabin luggage, so it was taken off us at the gate and we didn't see it again until we got to Heathrow.

I used it all the time in England and it was perfect - reclines qite well, enough to let DS (2.3) fall/stay asleep in it with no problem. It now lives in the boot of my car here in Oz and gets used all the time here as well.

It's pretty easy to fold up too, not the lightest of them all but I didn't mind the extra weight to get the extra features/sturdiness. Very good for the price, IMO.

thanks thumbwitch and Shivster, I may have narrowed it down to two, but thanks very much for your input.

Are there any nice antipodean strollers I should look at TW? Will be in Wellington at the end of the month...

I bought the Chicco London in Oz, sarfeasticated! It's the only one I've bought here, the other one I have was a secondhand gift so I don't know much about other types, sorry!

Apologies - Baby Jogger City Mini = BJCM

We are off on hols soon and planning to get a Baby Jogger City Mini to take with us. The large hood is fantastic.

I have bought a Maclaren Techo thingy and my LO is currently sitting in it reading a book in the middle of the living room. She loves it. It seems pretty good quality too. Thanks for all of your advice - much appreciated
