Pushchairs
Large tall 2.5 yr old, and newborn. Which side by side buggy please? help!

Ds definitely needs a double buggy, and reins/buggy board etc wouldn't do (yet) as he's a runner and has loads of tantrums when we're outside.
We are looking at side by side buggies as he's so heavy it would be very hard to get him up curbs in a tandem, and unfortunately he's too big and tall for a p&t.
Please can anyone recommend a decent side by side buggy which is suitable from birth? Thanks!

Baby Jogger city elite or even the city mini. Lovely quality comfy for new baby and huge pre schooler alike. Or get a single baby Jogger city elite and import the baby Jogger toddler seat from www.countrymoosekids.com as it's not yet sold in the uk. We have this combo for my 20m old and 6y old! Either kid can sit in either seat and it truly pushes like a dream. Obviously nb will have to go in pushchair seat initially!

Mountain Buggy Double??
I also rate Baby Jogger though (although only have a single) there is loads of room in them.

I have the Baby Jogger City Mini and completely love it. DS1 is just 3 and DS2 is 7months. It's very easy to handle, turns easily and is very well balanced.

What about the P & T classic twin side by side?
More height for a toddler and nice and airy for a newborn.
Got mine nine weeks ago and love it.
(so much so that people on this board are probably getting sick of me going on about it...I know I am!)
Truly though, tis very good.

Thanks all, the baby jogger city mini looks really good, I hadn't heard of it at all so I'm glad I started this thread. Not cheap but I assume to you can sell it when you don't need it any more and get quite a bit of your money back as long as it's not wrecked...?

Easy Walker Duo - you definitely want air tyres for a heavy toddler.

Baby Jogger tend to hold a good price 2nd hand, particularly the city mini. Shouldn't be wrecked as is good quality and washable. The fold down and up system on the baby Jogger is very practical and easy. Look at the video's on the bj website.

I agree stay away from anything without air tyres. I had a M&P Twin Aria and there was only 18 months between DD1 and 2 and it was horrendous.
Have heard good things about a double Nipper 360, double Mountain Buggy and the Baby Jogger.

I've got a baby jogger city mini and think you might have problems with pushing/kerbs. It's a great buggy though & it will resell well (esp on twin boards, TAMBA etc). Have you looked at a nipper? Mountain buggy is fab, you could prob get one off ebay pretty cheap and loads of space, I easily push my 3yo in it in fact 6yo fits in. Narrower than many of the others including city mini. But heavy so no good for in and out of the car.

Thanks everyone, having had a think, I'm considering getting a buggypod to pop on the side of a normal pushchair, which seems like it might serve both purposes - nice warm cosy pushchair for a newborn, and convenient little seat for a mischevious boy who occasionally needs to be strapped in!
If we tried that and it didn't work for us, then we'd get one of the doubles listed on this thread.
