Do I want an all terrain pushchair?!

I do quite a lot of walking with DD (3 months) and my current pushchair (Pliko Pramette, second hand) feels very rickety - I don't really like it. For any offroading it is really jiggly and hard to handle. So I was looking at three wheelers like the Jane Slalom Pro and the Mountain Buggy. But:

Are they so huge that they won't go through (fairly narrow) front doors?

Are they suitable for babies my DD's age to sleep in without forking out for an extra pram- bit?

Any other suggestions would be very welcome...

Phil and Ted's. Bit tricky for public transport, but you can't beat it in almost every other aspect. And if you have another, you're sorted

how much walking?
do you ever go to beaches/woods/along country tracks/go to festivals etc
phil n teds are v versatile and actually fine on buses

I was going to suggest Nipper 360, but there is a net vent at the top (good for hot weather) but maybe not for very young baby, though you can buy a head hugger thingy. It is quite wide. I got the Nipper when dd was over a year old, I love it.

I think yes you definitely need an all terrain, they are great for any bumpy paths or for off roading. Just need to work which one would be best, sorry I'm no help.

Get the Nipper 360 single - it's fab and suitable from birth. Very similar to P&T but for one child only and much cheaper, super light and excellent value overall.

PS - I use mine with my 3-week old DD in a P&T cocoon - perfect.

mountain buggy is quite narrow for a 3 wheeler, I never had a problem. I did own the carrycot but it does lie quite flat enough (although would suggest a head hugger) for a baby that age. Only thing is the hood is not v.good and doesn't provide much shade. I'd look at a baby jogger (maybe elite? if buying again although they are a bit wider I think, only because of the hood.
Having owned a p&t and a mb, there is no comparison although I do understand that p&t is useful if you want 2 children close together. I thought it was rubbish as an all terrain or as a pushchair in general but clearly in the minority on mumsnet! Have had jane powertrack as well (before the slalom) and again mountain buggy hands down.
