Mountain Buggy that isn't

Hi, I was wondering if anyone had any advice about a buggy I bought from out of the friday ad.

It was advertised as a mountain buggy and when I went round to this persons house (was quite a long way on the train and then a big walk) it looked fine, bit grubby but I thought I can just wash all the covers and if necessary get new ones. On the front where the Mountain Buggy logo is it said 'young pups' instead and I did ask about that but she just said that is what Mountain Buggy used to be called so I handed over the cash and got it home and started to have a proper look at it and have found that none of the covers come off at all so it can't really be cleaned properly and I rang up Mountain Buggy and they said that Young Pups buggies are nothing to do with them, which means no replacing the covers or parts if anything gets broken.

So I need advice on what to do, has anyone heard of young pups buggies or does anyone have them and know a way to get parts and get the covers off? Should I call this woman tomorrow and just say that it's not a mountain buggy and I want my money back?

Any advice gratefully received, ta

Depends on what you paid, I suppose. But you have the right to take back and get money back as it is not a mountain buggy

This happened to me on ebay - someone advertised double mountain buggy but actually it was an old mothercare version(which retail for about £500 less!)- luckily I realised from the photos before it was couriered to me (but only because i looked at them really really closely as it wasn't evident to someone who wasn't familiar with the real mountain buggies.
Because i had purchased via paypal i entered a paypal dispute and got my money back eventually.
As you are not protected by paypal you need to decide (as mitchell says) whether you want to keep it, return it or negotiate a discount - and act quickly so as not to "accept the misrepresentation". If the seller says "tough" then the only option is scaring her with threatening the small claims court. Make sure you keep a copy of the advert if you have it as this shows it was advertised incorrectly.
