Pushchairs

Maxi Cosi Mura 3 or Mutsy 4rider ?

Hi All,

I hope you pushchair experts can help me.

I killed my Speedi SX (which I loved) just before DS (now 22 months) was born. I have been using a Powertwin ever since, but DD is now too big for it and walks everywhere anyway, so I would like a new pushchair.

I walk everywhere and so the buggy needs to go around town and off-road.

I would prefer something parent facing as DS gets very annoyed because I can't hear him talking, stands up and falls out (he is a little escapologist!).

I have been looking at a Maxi Cosi Mura 3 (i have a buggyboard that would fit it!), but can't see it in real life and have now been shown a Mutsy 4rider. I'm not sure about the 4 wheels though.

Does anyone have either? Opinions?

Thank you!!!

I have just bought the Maxi Cosi Mura 3 and it's wonderful - really sturdily built, lovely smooth ride, faces you, and the recline is good on it too. The only downside with it is that it is quite wide at the back - I'm planning on doing a lot of walking with it so it will be fine for that, but not sure how it will cope going in narrow shop doorways!

I haven't seen the mutsy so don't know how they compare...

That said, I've just gone and had a look at the Mutsy, out of curiosity, and the back looks just as wide, if not wider..!

The Mura is on sale at Kiddicare at the moment btw.

Thank you.

Everyone who has a Mura seems to love it and i was all set to just go ahead. I am used to 3 wheels and was a little apprehensive about moving to four, so thought go for it, but I saw a picture of a toddler in it and she seemed far too big for it (legs hanging out and head well above the seat).

Kiddicare were fantastic. A lovely girl went away and measured the seat units for me and emailed back within an hour. I'm sure she's quite used to dealing with slighty neurotic mums!

It turns out the mura seat is 10 inches shorter, so I have decided to go for the extra length. DD is well above average height for her age and all legs (lucky thing! ) so thinking DS might be aswell.

DS is a typical man, mummy gets anywhere near a shop with him in tow and he lets out a tribal war cry!

Fortunately we're a family of shortarses so the lower height will (hopefully) not be a problem

DS1 had the same shop-phobia - even at 6 months he KNEW as soon as I walked in a shop! Was eerie!

I have a Mutsy, but the earlier Urban Rider model. Couldn't beat it with a big stick. I walk through a muddy forest to get to the school, and it handles it brilliantly. Plus you can get all manner of accessories, which I find amusing and stops me buying new prams. In theory.

I want to buy the mura but was wondering what buggy board is compatible with it, we have a scallywags buggy board. Thank you!
