Oyster - has anyone got one, good/bad experiences?

Hi

I was looking initially at the icandy apple but when in the shop the woman recommended the Oyster, which when we had a look and a play with we preferred. But it seems not to be very common so a bit nervous.

It would really help to get some feedback or personal experiences.

Thank you very much,

SH

I've bought one for DD due in April so haven't used it yet with a baby, am happy with it so far though. It was highly recommended by a couple of friends.

Only problem is I want a buggy board for it and because they're so new, I can't find any recommendations!

I've got an Oyster! We have only had the opportunity to use it twice so far (baby is 9 days old!) but so far so good. We have the carry cot option at the moment.

I like the fact that it packs away so small - our flat is quite small so space is at a premium. It is also pretty funky looking, and isn't as common as the Bugaboo.

It is very easy to put together, it's small and easy to get into shops - I would say that it does look like a bit of a bumpy ride though. The pavements round our way (south london) are shocking so that doesn't help. I will be greasing up the front wheels and suspension to try to help the situation but I'd say the oyster is def for around town.

I'll post back once I've had the chance to use it some more.

Thanks Orange, I would be grateful to hear how you get on.

I also live in a small flat (luckerly on the ground floor) so space is a serious issue, that was also one of the attractions of the Oyster for me.

I am confused about the suspension as on the advert for Oyster they say it's good, but must just be the advertising.

I'm also really interested to hear opinions. Husband likes Quinny but I'll be the one mostly using it for the first nine months and I need storage and for it to be lightweight and the Oyster looks like a better option. My only concern is the suspension thing really. The Bugaboo/iCandys look lovely, but a bit expensive for my budget.

Just to update you now we have been using the Oyster for a few weeks. I am really happy with it!

Although the suspension looks like it's not that good DS (5 weeks) seems to be very happy in it indeed! Although I keep meaning to grease the suspension to help, I haven't got round to it yet but it really seems to be ok. I even took the pram to the allotment this week and it was fine over the mud and grass - DS stayed sleeping the whole time.

The pram option fits really well on the bus, especially as you can put the adjustable handle in. It also fits in shop doors well, and next to tables in cafes. We have a small flat and storing the oyster is not a problem. The chassis folds up easily and we have it in the hallway.

I have also been out with the car seat on the chassis and this is a very neat option too.

I haven't used the pushchair option yet but overall I am extremely happy with our choice (so is DH!) - stylish, cheap(er than some others) and easy to use. I have already seen a few other oysters out and about and I think they will def become more popular.
