I'm going out today to get some curtain fabric and think I may try my hand at making a 'footmuff' if i see sommat i fancy..
but- as keen as i may sound..i aint gotta clue as to how much fabric i need? what width? (most are 48")..

would reeeally appreciate your input.

Maybe someone has ordered snunkie foormuffs or chunkle munkle but supplied their own fabric? here's hoping at least one of you pram diva's will know..
googled, but to no avail
any ideas? just need to know how much length i should get..

Lay some brown paper out in your pram, then add big cuffs. Do the same for any pram blanket you are going to do. Also measure the width; if the fabric is wide enough, you may be able to double the fabric sideways, instead of buying more!

Have you got a pattern for a footmuff by any chance? I was thinking of having a go too

I would just make a pattern using brown paper: lay it in the pram/pushchair and get all the folds sorted (use tape to make the folds stay, or trace the lines of the folds with pen; then cut the strap holes appropriately.

What have you got, a pushchair, a pram? With a pushchair, especially a Maclaren type, there is less folding to be done, as the seat is more rectangular, less molded than that of a pram.

Hope this helps?

sammy how did it go?

I am going to have a go at some liners again now that I've hopefully settled on a pushchair

Thanks for the tip WV.

ooops, moulded!

I have been thinking of making something for the pushchair, with terrycloth on one side and fleece on the other, for summer/winter use. The stuffing is thin quilty stuff, which I'm sure has a name, but I can't remember it.

I started with the fleece and stuffing, but because I was trying to fit it to the big pram, it ended up too moulded for me to make the terrycloth side; there would have been too many lumps from overlapping fabric! I would have done better to have concentrated on our folding pushchair!

jiggly i went shopping for fabric, but didn't find any i liked-i have a black buggy so really, anything would go- but being quite fussy, lol.. even went to the curtain factory outlet thingie in finchley (love that place!) but no joy. i used my standard JL footmuff and traced that shape.
