We've just moved out of London to Sussex and my beloved Maclaren Techno XT is coming up a little short on the local muddy lanes so I'm on the look out for a new buggy for use on muddy lanes and even fields/grass tracks/rocky surfaces etc if such a thing is possible, so that DS and I can get out and enjoy the local scenery without me having to worry about how far I'll have to carry him home etc.

Any suggestions?

DS is 22 months and I'm 6 weeks pregnant. Provided everything goes okay, I may be in the market for a double depending on how far DS is walking by the time sibling is needing buggy as opposed to carrier. So any suggestions for doubles would also be useful!

FWIW, I'll likely continue to use the Maclaren (with buggy board) when shopping etc. so I'm willing to consider a bit of a brute for outdoorsy stuff if necessary!

Thanks!

My P&T goes everywhere, through mud, tracks, grassy fields.

I live in a fairly rural area I've just bought the Maxi Cosi Mura 3 for long walks. So far it's handling rough terrain really well and my 4 month old seems very comfortable in it. It's easy to steer and is parent or front facing which is great. I also got it on sale for only £130 which is a bargain compared to similar 3 wheelers!

Nipper 360, they do single or twin. It's light, easy to push and I love it.

mountain buggy- you can add buggy board later

The Maxi Cosi Mura 3 is a good pushchair and cheap. It is quite bulky and heavy though.

Kiddiecare have a good price for them at the moment.

WeWantYourDoofDoofs · 20/01/2010 10:55

Nipper every time, for both single and double.

Or maybe a Bob.

Baby Jogger in the Classic or the Elite?

buggyboard is rubbish on rough terrain though, however good the pushchair itself is

P&T and get a double kit if necc later
