Baby too big for P&T Cocoon - what then?

It doesn't look as if it'll be long before DD1 outgrows her cocoon - so what do we put her in then? Our Phil & Teds Sport is currently in doubles mode with DS1 [nearly two] travelling on top, and DD1 in the cocoon, inside the cavity underneath.

She's not even a month old yet, so i can't imagine she's nearly old enough to travel in the bottom of the buggy in a seat - so what now?!? I have heard talk of the footmuff - but is that even any bigger if it still has to fit into the buggy cavity. And is it sturdy enough to protect her inside the cavity?

Any help gratefully appreciated, thank you

Hey CoffeeMum,
I have a P&T classic twin that I'm using for my newborn and 2 year old. We looked at the cocoon, but as DD was a very long baby, we decided it wasn't worth it. Anyway, we bought a wallaboo footmuff to go in the newborn section and so far it is fantastic ! Already had one for DS which was brilliant, so thought we'd try it in the lie flat bit. Have to say she is lovely and cosy in there, did pad out the flat base of the seat with a blanket first, but to be honest, it would probably be fine without it. Really glad I bought it as they wash brilliantly and fit my DS even now (he is also quite tall for his age)
The P&T footmuff/sleeping bag thing looked lovely, but would, I imagine, only fit the P&T, whereas the Wallaboo fits other buggies (fits the Bugaboo a treat) so was a better choice for us.
Hope that helps, sorry for the ramble

Thanks Stanton Lacy - looks like the footmuff is the next step. I suppose we'd get the Phil & Ted's one as this is our last ever buggy!! But i just wonder if they protect baby enough? They seem softer than the cocoon - but i suppose the surroundings of the buggy cavity protect the baby enough.

Annoying though - the cocoon is very handy for daytime naps too!

I didn't have a cocoon, just laid baby on a blanket and that was fine. (She was a summer baby and I didn't want her too hot).

We have this problem. The wallaboo footmuff looks lovely. DS2 is currently bursting out of his cocoon. Would the Wallaboo also fit the doubles seat on a P&T once DS2 is big enough to go in that does anyone know?

I used a sheepskin once the cocoon was outgrown

My DD only lasted 4 months in the cocoon. Then she had a buggy snuggle and I reclined the lower seat for her.

Thanks everyone for your replies.

Flowerybeanbag - i'm sorry, i have no idea As you can see, i'm a bit of a novice on the Phil & Ted front.

Moomaa and Eldon Ave - can i ask, did you place the blanket/sheepskin down on the bottom of the newborn cavity and just put baby on top of it? I'm worried that won't be enough protection?

Meglet - what's a Buggy Snuggle please?
