Please give me buggy advice: we have a very tall, very heavy DS and having new baby soon

DS is only 2.4 but is at the top of the charts for height and weight -- he was actually beyond the range that the chart extended to last time we had him officially weighed by the HV!

He will be 2.9 when DD is born in May. Lots of people have said that we should try to manage without a double and just make do with a normal buggy and a sling. I am apprehensive though -- I will prob have a CS so slings will be out for a few weeks at least, and also, DS always hated the sling so if that happens again we will be stuffed. Also, he still likes his buggy and I do rely on having him ride in it sometimes, as I don't drive and we have to walk everywhere. Not convinced he would take to a buggy board.

What, if any, double buggy would best suit a very very tall and heavy toddler and a newborn? In theory we are skint but I am thinking along the lines of selling it on after 6 months or so, by which time I expect we won't need it quite as much. So something that holds its value well if looked after would prob be OK, even if expensive.

I wondered about a Mountain Buggy double, as we use a MB Swift for DS just now due to its higher than average weight capacity. Anyone have exp of this?

Sorry so long

I think that the nipper double is quite roomy, mountain buggy as you said and also baby jogger city (not mini) all quite roomy and easy to push with hevay toddler. Maybe keep an eye out for second hand, think all these hold their value ok.....

The Baby Jogger Classic Twin is quite roomy. There are some good deals on this new at the moment as this is being discontinued.
