Has anyone tried the John Lewis My Child buggy?

here.

I need a very lightweight foldable pushchair and am wondering whether to get this or the Maclaren Volo.

Alternatively, I could bite the bullet and buy the Baby Jogger Mini City or the Micralite Fastfold.

Opinions please (before I go insane).

Essentially, I need it to get DD into town and back, but to be able to carry it when she wants to walk as I have lost control of my 'big' pushchair twice today while pushing it and herding DD.

How old is your dd?

tutu100 · 07/01/2010 16:07

If she is quite old then you can get very similar cheaper models that will do the same job. This one here from argos is good. It has a carry strap and also reclines slightly if she still naps sometimes in the pushchair.www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/3763605/c_1/1%7Ccategory_root%7CNursery%7C14417537/c_2/3%7 C15701330%7CPushchairs,+prams+and+carriers%7C14417542/c3/4%7Ccat14417542%7CPushchairs%7C14417543.h tm

She is two. It does look better than the John Lewis one. Thanks.

Is it worth going for a more expensive one?

tehehe! spend spend spend! emailed back- the john lewis one is a minger!

LaTrucha · 07/01/2010 16:43

LOL

But you wouldn't approve of me getting another blue pram for DD, now would you? (Like the Chicco one Tutu said).

LOL

try the quicksmart and see if it ticks any boxes first- she may hate it even more than the infinity iyswim. You could always borrow my bug to see whether it's got the x-factor that gets even more stares than the hot pink hauck did!

LaTrucha · 07/01/2010 16:56

Now there's an offer.

Did you get my email about the Micralite?

tutu100 · 07/01/2010 16:58

At 2 for a stroller I probably would spend the least amount possible, but I would have another decent pram for use at other times

LaTrucha · 07/01/2010 17:00

Spending the least amount possible is usually my problem, though. Which is why I'm in a quandry. No. 2 on the way!

Maclaren is best quality stroller you can get imo andi've had a few. the micralite would be nice tho with air tyres at back!

tutu100 · 07/01/2010 17:01

Same one but in pink here and a little bit cheaper than from argos shop. [http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/CHICCO-CT06-STROLLER-PINK-PUSHCHAIR-NEW_W0QQitemZ330392471624QQcmdZViewItemQQ ptZUKBabyBabyTravelPushchairsGL?hash=item4ceced0848#ht1103wt1165]

reallywoundup · 07/01/2010 17:01

tutu100 · 07/01/2010 17:03

Nope maclaren still better quality!

nappyaddict · 11/01/2010 11:56

I would get an obaby. They are good quality and fairly cheap.

LaTrucha · 12/01/2010 22:27

Ah. Didn't see this in time. But O'baby are a bit heavy for what I want and have bought a Silver Cross Fizz (only 4.5k). Snow allowing, it will be here tomorrow!

nappyaddict · 13/01/2010 04:43

Oh yes the lightest one Obaby do is 6.4kg
