Baby jogger city mini double

Hi

After much deliberation and trekking round baby shops where my in laws live (theres not much here), today we bought the above pram plus raincover, double belly bar and 2 foot muffs, for £424 which is a good price. It is(a lot) more than I wanted to spend but given the alternatives there wasn't really a choice! We have justified it with the £190 health in pregnancy grant and the fact it should have a good resale value. And I love it so far.

It will have to accommodate DD and the new babe, DD will be 28m by then. We have test driven it round the block and DD liked it, there was plenty of room in it for her. It pushes more easily than our M&P switch single pushchair. People have said it is hard to push with hard wheels when the weight is unbalanced, we didn't find this at all, the other side was empty. We are going to borrow my friends toddler and take the 2 of them out in it. The footmuffs are very plush and luxurious and seem more like a carry cot so the baby will be cosy in it. We got 2 because they also act as a liner and it will hopefully make it easier to sell a double pram with 2 foot muffs.

We also looked at the 360 nipper, mothercare vesta, maclaren twin techno, silver cross pop duo, mothercare duolite, and a couple of phil and teds, I researched them on the web and then went round baby shops to see them in the 'flesh', and I bought from a small local company rather than mothercare type multinational shop. We were disappointed by all of the ones we saw except the city mini. There isn't a perfect double pram, they have to be of a certain weight and width by necessity but this is the best of a poor selection. I really love my new pram so far and hope it lives up to it when the new baby arrives!

Hi there! I've just read your post, we bought a city mini double yesterday for our twins due feb 2010. The shop didn't have the baby jogger foot muffs, so we will maybe buy them online...just wondering how do you find the fit of them, are they neat? Do they affect the folding of the buggy? Is it difficult to get at the fold strap with them in? or will any brand of muff do? Sorry...so many questions!

mum2b2twins. The footmuffs have a slot in them which the folding handle goes through, so no fiddling underneath for the handle. Also the handle keeps the footmuff fitted nice & tight to the seat unit & prevents it from slipping.
