One-handed push plus a buggy board...

Ok, I appreciate I am asking for the impossible here.

What I would really like is a rear-facing pushchair that I can push one-handed (for when the toddler walks and holds my hand), that can also fit a buggy board (for when he's too tired to walk).

I do see that if a pushchair has a single bar, then logically this is positioned where the toddler's head would be on a buggy board. So it can't be done.

However, in my quest for the perfect travel solution I have heard that the Loola Up may be the answer, as the bar can go around the toddler's head (still with me?!).

Mothercare assure me that a buggyboard should not be used with a Loola Up. I don't really know why.

Does anyone have any thoughts on this, or recommendations for other pushchairs? All suggestions will be most gratefully received.

wondered mothercare urban detour or loola up - have got the detour but don't know if the spec for the current model is anything like mine, which is 3 yrs old...
Have had similar 'needs' to you - as do many mums with a toddly one and a newborn, surely there must be something?!

dunno if this helps

and btw, most manufacturers (and shop assistants) will tell you that the pram shouldn't have a buggy board on it. But you have to make up your own mind and do your research!

THIS actually is your answer to the 'impossible question'

I can push my loola up with DD3 in it (9 w/o) with DD2 (2 y/o) on the buggy board and holding DD1 (3.9 y/o)'s hand - none of them are delicate little flowers either - they weigh 35kg between them!. I can even take it up and down curbs like this.

You can only really use the buggy board with the seat rear facing if you want to have the seat reclined all the way back. It's a really good set up like this as DD2's head is between handle bar and pushchair not between handle bar and me so she doesn't bash her chin on it each time I stop!

Thanks for all the helpful messages. This is the problem, Gigglebells - manufacturers tell me I can't have a buggy board on all the prams I want. But I suspect that I can, actually...

Very interested to hear that you have a Loola Up plus buggyboad, TruthSweet. You give me hope!

in answer to the single handle bar query the toddlers head usually fits junder ths qute nicely imo. Not used on a RF but used on a nipper which worked fab wth board. PUshing an 18m old in it and a 3.3yr old on the board. Did it dailey for 3m then made 3.3yr old walk!!
