best double pushchair for getting on buses with?

due in april with number 2. dd turns 2 the same month. she's great at walking but does need putting in the buggy when tired as she's then likely to run off or need a nap. so anyway after having convinced myself that i can make do with a sling and a single pushchair for the first three months and a buggy board thereafter, people have been starting to change my mind...

so, other than the perfect-looking but pricey icandy pear, is there anything you could recommend? not keen on the phil and ted's by the way.

so basically any recommendations for a double buggy that's the size of a single buggy? thanks

I wasn't keen on the p&t so I got a mothercare hoxton before dd2 was born. Big mistake! really hard to push.

Ended up getting a 2nd hand p&t which is really easy to push and, although has its drawbacks is definitely what I'd recommend.

It fits on the bus even though the wheels are wide btw.

jane power twin. one in front of the other. the one with four wheels, not the 3 wheeler

this is going back a few years now but i had a phil and teds and then when the wheel kept falling off, i used a four wheeler jane twin.. don't knwo the exact name of the model but it was great, really thin, didn't nearly topple over when you went up on kerb..

i used to have to use buses too as i didnt have a car during the day.

depends on your local buses and how busy they are

here I would say a maclaren twin would be best
P&T you have to get on the back doors sometimes and you need the whole of the wheelchair space

If you do a lot of walking I recommend a double pram (the P&T is very good), but if you plan on using the bus, then I would stick to your plan of baby in a sling and a very light umbrella buggy that you can easily fold - there is nothing worse then having bus after bus pass you by because they are all too full to take a large pushchair.

you have to collapse pushchairs here, so i would say sling and single deffo.

i resisted buying a p&t for a whole year, so wish i hadn't made getting out so much easier.

hey thanks for your responses. whichever pushchair i get must be able to go on buses as i use them all the time to get around. my dd's never even been in a car. am in london so buses often have one pushchair on already. would like one that would fit on as the second pushchair that they are allowed to take. one of my two pushchairs at the mo is a britax vigour which is quite big and that goes on through the front door just fine on like 99% of buses.

to those of you who have tried a p&t on a bus, can you get on at the front door and do you find the single front wheel unstable when the front of the bus is a foot or more off the ground? also as it's been a while since i've seen one on a bus, can you tell me if it fits ok next to another buggy?

i will check out that jane power twin...
