double buggy advice

hello Im after some advice on double buggies please. I have a 2 1/2 yr old and a 5 month old and have finally decided a double buggy would be more than useful! but I dont know which are any good. I dont want a really wide one that you cant get in and out of doorways or around shops, but the ones where you have one baby hidden behind the other dont really appeal as the baby at the back cant see anything apart from the back of his brother !

if anyone is using a double buggy and thinks its any good/ or thinks theirs is rubbish and would advice not to buy Id really appreciate your views/ advice.

thanks

Get as light as possible! Out N About 360 seems to be an all round winner. Look at MN reviews.

I love my double buggy but it wouldn't be everyone's cup of tea.

Cons: expensive, heavy, very long, takes up the whole car boot.

Pros: front facing (or indeed any way facing), loads of space for each child, both seats can lie completely flat (although this does make it very very long) can get loads of shopping on it, as narrow as a single buggy.

It's an Inglesina Domino:

for your age gap and age of dc's i'd get a p&t, put youngest in main seat and your 2.5yr old can hop in/out as they need.

I had one for my then 13m old and 2.8yr old was fab, best double i've had.

i have single nipper and would think the double is great as so light but at 2.5yr your oldest may want to walk sometimes and i just found p&t easier round shops.

i have an icandy pear, and its perfect for me and the dcs 28mnths and 12mnths.

but as pp has said mine may not be everyones cup of tea for the same reasons pricey and heavy, and a few pieces to shove in the car, although it does all fit in a 106!

Pros.

both kids can lay down.
same size footprint as a single
HUGE shopping basket,
great tyres for any terrain,
adjustable handle, very handy for tall dp and short me!
parent or forward facing!

My sis-in-law has a new baby (17th Nov) and a 2 yr old and she bought a Bebecar Vector Duo because she can have both facing her/both away or back to back and that it is only as wide as a single pushchair rather than side by side (sooo easy for getting through doors).
It has a nice weight to it, enough so it feels secure. Oh and the seats are folding like consetina (hope thats spelt right) style so they take up less room in the boot.

hi - sorry this is a bit late for the original question, but after much searching I have bought the Emmaljunga city nitro which you can get a toddler seat or buggy board for. it's lightweight and a great quality, but is v expensive (around £600 all in). i have been using it since birth of 2nd child and my kids are now 4 months and 27 months. we're still using toddler seat and it's really comfortable to use. only downside is that it's quite large for the car boot.

Chesneyh I hope my post doesn't disappoint you, but I wanted to recommend to everyone the Jusonne Othello we bought. It's dead cheap (£140ish), it's super-lightweight, as narrow as a single, and hardly longer either, and both kids can see out of it unlike a P&T. Build quality isn't fab it feels flimsy although it lasted the course for us. But it was fantastic to have a buggy that could fit in a black cab, have both kids able to look out at the world, and yet be able to provide a comfy, flat, dark environment for the little one to sleep. I tried to post a review but it seems like it got eaten....
