how old does baby need to be for you to change from the pram attachment to the forward facing bit (I think he would like to be looking out a bit more) but is not yet 4months and has rubbish head control so maybe need to wait?

I did it at 3 months for dd, which was clearly way too early. I remember my dad changing it for me and huffing and puffing and shaking his head. We did, however, put the cosy toes in at the same time, which goes behind their head, and makes the whole area more cushioned, if you like.

She was fine, btw, we never changed it back. Now I need to find the other parts to change it back to the carrycot for ds's immiment arrival. There's no way she'd have stayed lying down for 6 months. I did have her facing me for a while, rather than outwards. The middle setting for the seat was fine.

Does it have the option to face forwards or backwards? I had a pram which faced both ways and I started putting DS in the seat facing me partially reclined at about 4 months. I am only just starting to put him forward facing most of the time at 1 year. (As now if I put him facing me he's constantly leaning round to see where he's going!)

Think you can get a wedge that turns the seat into more of a bouncing chair shape (i.e. softens the angle between the back and the bit that goes under their bottoms). This is a good compromise.

When my DS was fed up with lying flat in the pram but was still too small for the pushchair seat (around 4 months) I took to taking him out with the car seat in place instead - this solved the problem for me as he could see out but was still adequately supported.

I changed for my DD1 at 8 months!!! She was very much a like to have a lie down kind of baby. Changed it at 5 months for DD2 as she was rolling over onto her tummy then raising herself up onto her arms to peer over the top. Looked funny but thought she would topple out!!!

thanks have changed it - and put footmuff in, seems to be going ok!
